I asked to customize their traditional gyro for a shrimp gyro, and they were happy to. It was flavorful and their tzatziki sauce.. so yummy! Their baklava, on the other hand not so great. If you’re into heavy cinnamon taste, then it’s def a treat for you to try. It is BYOB, which is great, and their next to a Wine & Country as a perk. I love the warmer days because you can sit outdoors, but inside is just as pretty with an authentic Greek touch.

Large restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. Occasionally, you get a dry salmon dish. Bronzino, lemon potatoes and Greek salad make a good dinner.

Great experience! We really enjoyed just about every part of the restaurant. As you can see we ordered several items. They bring you a crispy bread with olive oil and oregano when you sit down. It was very good and you can tell they use quality oil. We started with the spicy feta dip and the cheese balls. Both we very tasty! Pita comes out hot and almost crispy. For entrées we got the pork gyro platter and the stuffed peppers (& tomato). The platter was very filling and delicious. The server (Joe) recommended the pork. He told us that in Greece pork gyros are more common and lamb is less common. It was interesting so I gave it a try and my God. It was fire! Perfect pieces of salty, crispy pork. I made little gyro sandwiches and loved them! The stuffed pepper was different and good. Again you can tell all the ingredients are fresh and quality. Service was very good, no complaints. Price was it’s a steal. I don’t usually say this, but I would have thought the bill would have been at least $20 dollars more expensive. Also there is parking in the back it appears, I didn’t know this and ended up parking around the corner. Would absolutely recommend you give this place a try, I know we will be back! Overall I give Stamna Taverna a 4.6 out of 5, an NJ must visit!

Wow – I LOVE Stamna so much. I order here maybe one a week or at least every other week. The food is AMAZING. Since having my honeymoon in Greece, I’m really picky about my Greek food – I want it to be as authentic as possible. Stamna is that and more. It’s so delicious, there’s never any mistakes with my order, and the staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. This is a staple for me I highly highly highly recommend!

The absolute best. If I could eat here everyday, I would. Food is ALWAYS GREAT. I have been dining here and doing takeout for years and it has never changed. All of the staff is amazing too. Great for a quick little meal (like a salad or gyro) or an all out dinner as the appetizers are amazing and the whole fish entrees are as good as any seafood restaurant out there!

Good for a taste of Greek flavors. I’m not a frequent Mediterranean/Greek food diner so I’ll just provide input based on what little I’m familiar with.

I purchased a chicken gyro platter for $20, but unfortunately, the quality of the food was disappointing. The portions were separated in the photo to demonstrate this. The food seemed old and not fresh, and the fries were cold and overcooked, as if they had been sitting for a long time. The salad lacked flavor and consisted mostly of the lettuce base. The pita bread was also soft and seemed stale. Sadly, I was disappointed with my purchase and only ate a small amount of the food. It was a waste of money.
