We were a walk in. The food was really impressive. Light yet flavourful. The sparkling peach sake was really interesting. First time tried Doriyaki and it was just the right sweet to end our evening on. Friendly staff and good ambience. I know we will go again.

When I’m in Newcastle I often go here and I probably visited 10 times over the past 2 years. I normally enjoy a few small dishes such as the Tori Karage Nasu Dengkaku, and Seared Tuna Salad. The staff are very friendly and I think the prices are reasonable, especially when compared with London. If you order hot green tea make sure to get some ice cubes because it really is very hot.

Visited here for the first time this evening for a birthday meal, and it was some pretty good sushi. We opted for the Osaka set, octopus nigiri, crisp shrimp maki, soft shell crab and avocado maki, and fruity crab maki. All good was excellent, and was brought out to us quickly despite ordering many different items.
My only qualm would be around the “student discount.” When using this discount, you have to pay in cash (thankfully we had enough on us), and it does not apply to sushi sets or drinks. Therefore, I think that marketing a student discount is both accurate and inaccurate in this case, and the T&Cs need to be made more clear.

Visited St Sushi recently and honestly had such an amazing meal. My sister’s over from Dubai for a short family visit, and considering the kind of food she’s used to out there, she was genuinely impressed with the quality here. The staff were really courteous and attentive – they kept checking in, topping up our green tea without us even asking, and when we asked for extra wasabi (we’re obsessed with it), they happily brought more with a smile. The food itself was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The place was busy but the team made sure everyone was looked after. Lovely atmosphere too – warm and welcoming. Definitely somewhere I’d go back to without hesitation. Already looking forward to the next visit.

My fave sushi in Newcastle! Very affordable, service always super nice. Me and my family come here all the time. Fizzy drinks always super flat though but food makes up for it! The fresh salmon and prawn tempura are the best, tuna isn’t as good. They have a massive menu and lots of vegan and veggie options too.

Salmon sashimi melted in my mouth. Was here for my birthday and the food and experience was so lovely. ❤️ It was my first time there but can’t wait to come again! I will definitely reccomend to family and friends!!
Also, the tempura did not taste oily at all. I usually get an ill feeling eating fried food but the tempura was done so well. Light and so crispy. Absolutely killed it.

Fantastic food. This is a lovely little place with authentic Japanese food. I tried the spicy salmon nori cone, chicken katsu and fried ice cream. All fantastic. The katsu is probably the best I’ve ever had. The cocktails are nice too – I had an Autumn Moon. These are £8.95 each and are tiny so be prepared, I was a bit disappointed with the size for the price but other than that, amazing.

Cute little restaurant I came here with my partner for lunch. It was quiet and has a nice atmosphere, the staff were very friendly. We both loved our food and there was a lot of options which was nice for me having a few dietary restrictions. I got Yasai tofu don, my partner ordered cheesy Buta udon which was one of his favourite ramen dishes he’s tried.
