I ordered the Guinness Beef stew and my wife had the Shepards pie. Both were delicious. I had them box the remaining stew….nice portion. My only criticism was that the salads were a wee gritty. Use those sinks, fellas.
This is absolutely a destination restaurant. Worth the trip. Thank God I don’t live nearby…I’d gain 50 pounds and go broke.
The people there are wonderful and polite. The atmosphere is really great. Irish to the core. Carly, our server, was very nice.
I highly recommend.
Good idea to make reservations!

As I write this, I’m listening to traditional Irish music, having just finished a wonderful meal. We’ve been coming here since the Eggerman’s days, and the consistency over the years really says everything. They have music Tues- Sunday!.

This week especially, with the Irish music throughout, you truly feel like you’ve stepped into a quaint Irish pub in Ireland — complete with a cozy fireplace, waitstaff who remember your name, and a hands-on manager, Garrett, who genuinely cares about the experience.

Carly was our server tonight and was fantastic; Jude took care of us last night and was just as great. We did have a small hiccup due to a previous table lingering for nearly two hours, but honestly, that’s more a testament to how good this place is than anything else. They didn’t want to leave and I don’t blame them. The busboy Gavin was on point delivering water, and bread..to the table right away.. and yes that’s important because everyone else – at different restaurants forget bread and water.

The food is consistently excellent, prices are fair, and if there ever is an issue, Garrett will make it right. Also—don’t miss Sunday brunch.

We had the chicken pot pie, the Celtic burger, the Dublin egg rolls, prime rib sliders.. I only took a pic of the egg rolls.

Hands down, the best spots in Spring Lake for a laid-back, homey, welcoming atmosphere.

This place, never disappoints whether you’re just stopping in for a drink, a beer, appetizers, lunch, or dinner the service and the food is always top notch. Can’t say enough about the staff here from the hostess to your bus boys and servers. They are always kind and welcoming! If you haven’t been you’re missing out, St Patrick’s day here is also a spectacular!

Nice pub close to the beach in spring lake. Food was good, though a bit overpriced for what you get. All in all a positive experience and feels like a local institution.

What a great bar/experience. I ordered the orange popsicle. It was awesome as was my Shepard’s Pie. My sister ordered the beef tips and she raved about them. We were there on a Tuesday night and the entertainment was really great. I would recommend St. Stephen’s to everyone. What a great time. I will definitely be going back.

A good Irish themed restaurant! The staff was very friendly and helpful, they were out of wings and a few other things we thought were standard but everything we ordered came out correctly and it was delicious. The space it laid out slightly disjointed but easy enough to move around it. Everything is well kept and clean. The drinks were great and look forward to getting back again.

A special place. The most delicious Fish and Chips and a perfectly poured Guinness. Our outstanding and attentive Server Nancy helped make the experience so pleasant tonight. Tuesday’s Irish Music Seisuns are wonderful but acoustics make for tough conversations…so just drink and listen!

Me and my wife have been wanting to try this Irish pub for a while and it did not dissapoint. You felt like you were transported to Ireland instead of New Jersey. The place is covered with authentic Irish paraphernalia. We went here on St. Patty’s weekend and it was wall to wall. That didn’t stop the bartenders from being quick with getting drinks or food to patrons. Not only were they quick, but they served you with a smile and made sure you got what you needed. They also had a great Irish band playing called the Bantry Boys which had everyone in the pub singing and dancing. The food was excellent. I had the corn beef and cabbage and a side of their homemade Irish Soda Bread and Irish Rolls. They give you a good amount of food too. I can see why the locals can’t get enough of this place no matter what time of the year it is. This isa must stop Irish pub if you are ever in Spring Lake!

Food is phenomenal!! Wasn’t expecting it to be so good we were there more for the ambiance. It’s cozy and intimate, yet has a great energy and vibe. The manager who was there for Valentine’s Day really took care of us and made sure our kids were entertained! Can’t wait to go back!

Tonight is our first time dining here and we are very happy with the food, service and atmosphere. Patty and her assistant were very friendly and attentive. We asked Patty for recommendation as this is our first time. We enjoyed the traditional dinners recommended by Patty; the Irish breakfast has different kinds of sausages, serving with baked beans, eggs, tomatoes and bread. The potato pancakes are my favorite. The chicken pot pie is delicious, all white meat with hearty vegetables, seasoning is perfect! I love the puffy pastry! The light beer is flavorful, we will be back… 🙂
