We’re St. Bess Jerk, and we’ve been a jerk chicken restaurant here in Burbank, IL, since 2020. We believe in serving 100% authentic Jamaican food and offering light and dark jerk chicken, curry chicken and goat, and seafood options like shrimp and catfish. Our business started from heritage, and we wanted to spread the joy and love of Jamaican cooking here in America. We’re looking forward to growing our business and partnering with Oak Lawn, Orland Park, Cicero, and the surrounding areas’ consumers to continue to serve authentic Jamaican cuisine. The chicken is good, but the sides needs seasoning. The reason for my post is because I was eating my red beans and rice and ate a scotch bonnet pepper. Who would put that in the rice. I thought I was going to die my mouth was so hot. Plus, the attitude of the lady that answer the phone and gave me my order is not a pleasant person at all. It’s like she has an attitude she’s working. I don’t understand how someone can bring a business down that way. Customer service is very important.

This place is tasteful! Ive had some jerk chicken from places near by but nothing compares. I had the dark dinner which comes with 2 sides of your choice. I had cabbage and Mac. Let me tell you that meal was so delicious! The dark chicken dinner comes with rice and the sauce already on it mixed but they also give you more sauce on the side. The cabbage flavor is good it has a little spice to it but nothing crazy. Overall everything taste so good and I would definitely recommend.

Food was alright. Chicken wasnt all that, mac and cheese tasted odd, and green beans were a bland, cold mess. The green beans by far the worst thing on my plate. No seasonings, no finesse, no nothing. I ordered from Uber eats and it took so long that my poor uber driver was waiting for 30 minutes for it to be ready, and when i received my order, I was missing an extra order of the mac and cheese! It was a new experience but I don’t think I’ll order from them again.

White chicken was real moist and flavorful. The rice and beans deserve a round of applause for being so dang delicious. I inhaled my food cause it was THAT good. Plus the portions so big that I get 2 meals out of it. 10/10 would eat here again.

I ordered a half dark chicken on a bed of rice and peas, with a side of plaintains and a side of cabbage on Friday the 23rd. The staff messed up my order, tried to make it better, but still fell short. I called the owner/manager Ricky on Saturday the 24th and told him about it, and he invited me back and made my order right at no charge!

I was a loyal oxtail dinner customer until Nancy left, she made sure your food was done right! The guys they have working there now don’t know about presentation and quality. The oxtails are burnt. Who deserves that for $27.50? Do your taste buds a favor and go somewhere else.
