After you grab your drink, head on out to our 4,500-square-foot deck that sits at Gonzales Creek and overlooks the Intercoastal Waterway. Under twinkling lights you can enjoy live music that will be playing on our stage every day of the week. The upgraded and oversized gas fire pit sits in the middle of the deck. It provides the perfect place to gather around with friends to roast your own s’mores that will be available on their menu. If the atmosphere doesn’t make you want to come, the food certainly will. Our extensive menu specializes in fresh fish with Southern flare. We serve 8 different varieties of fresh fish that are sourced locally whenever possible. If not local, they are sourced domestically. Never imported.

Laid-back restaurant with open-air dining showcasing fish, crab & oysters, plus cocktails & brunch.

This is an amazing place to dine. My husband and I were in the area and stopped in about 3:30, they didn’t open until 4pm but we were told there would be a line soon. OMG they were telling the truth, by 4 o’clock there was at least 12 of us lined up for the Wednesday Special – “60 cent oysters”, YES I SAID THAT RIGHT!!! We ate from the HH Menu so we tried some of almost everything; Oysters, Fish Bites, Shrimp, Oyster Deviled Eggs, and a Spicy Tuna Roll. Everything is Fresh and Flavorful!!! The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, we met so many new people. Our service was outstanding, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great Patio. Fantastic Service – Only declines when they are very busy. Live music on Saturday night!

Food is fantastic. Salads are fresh & Huge portions. Good frozen “beach” drinks. Best hush puppies in all St Augustine – Just get the jam on the side!

The name has changed to The Boat House. The food was very good. The star was the Deviled Bacon Oyster Plate. The flavors were amazing. The entrees were very good as well. Our server Lucas did his job well. Really enjoyed our visit.

Updated review:
We visited twice in three days span. July 10th the restaurant was not crowded and we had a good experience. We returned July 12th and had good food but apparently the kitchen was extremely backed up. We were there for over two hours. We ordered unlimited shrimp and never received our refill until we got up to leave. We walked to the front to pay our bill. Our server was kind and apologetic but appeared to be working too many tables and was just unable to attend to our needs. Definitely a great restaurant but may not be the best place to go with a larger group of people, which we were a party of 14.

First time going here and it was pretty good. The service was good. The staff was very friendly. The food was awesome. The server recommended the Brussels sprouts. Very good. I had crab legs and my wife had the pork chop. The crab legs were good. My wife loved the pork chop she highly recommends it. My son and I split a slice of key lime pie. Very good pie.

If you’re a foodie, this probably isn’t your place. If you’re looking for a nice bar with a fun environment, give it a go. This is a new locally owned restaurant, which I love, so I’m willing to give the food another shot down the road. The outdoor area is really nice, with plenty of seating, a huge fire pit, and a stage for entertainment. The band that was playing when I was there was absolutely amazing! To start, we ordered the Fish House Style Charbroiled Oysters. Not my favorite. They felt overcooked and had enough garlic on it to choke The Godfather himself. One oyster had a piece of garlic on it the size of a dime. Now, I really really really like garlic, but this was too much. We also tried the grouper nuggets. They were ok, but they really needed seasoning. The fried green tomatoes needed more seasoning as well, but the mountain pimento cheese underneath was delicious. The cheese grits, made with the same pimento cheese, was nice as well. The Brussels sprouts, though, were not my favorite. They had a very strange taste, almost as though something on the plate was past it’s prime. Overall, all of the food was ok, but it was plated nicely, the staff was working extremely hard, the drinks were nice, and the entertainment was great.

On vacation for 5 days in St. Augustine from Ohio, and St. Augustine Fish House and Oyster Bar was recommended by one of the locals. It was the perfect way to end the trip. While it was a bit expensive, it was worth every penny. Our waiter Daniel was top notch, we asked him many questions on recommendations and every one was good and we never had to track him down, he was always there at the right time.

For food we had the fried gator tail, we weren’t sure what to expect. It was surprisingly mild and tender.
The stuffed grouper was out of this world, honestly it was so perfect it didn’t even need to be stuffed with cheesy crab meat. We also had the captain’s platter, which is a variety of sea food. All of it was cooked perfect, but my god, the scallops were melt in your mouth buttery heaven.

We both had bacon collard greens, which were good, the cheesy grits were delicious and the hush puppies, we agreed, were probably the best we’ve ever had.

The only thing that happened was we were told we’ll probably need reservations, we tired calling a few times on different phones and we couldn’t get through, even though the line picked up. So we drove the 8 minutes from downtown and took a chance. Luckily we were able to get a table but September is the off season so that probably helped.

In summary, this restaurant was the best of our stay, pretty location, great food and drinks, excellent service. Will recommend to anyone coming within an hour stay of St. Augustine and we are going to think about this place while we are in the seafood desert that is Ohio. We’d come back just to eat here again.
