TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

The food was amazing and the costumer service was super nice
From the first look, you can tell there’s care behind it. The chicken is crispy at just the right point—it looks, tastes, and feels like real chicken. The portion size is spot on, not oversized or skimpy. The fries are well seasoned, with great texture, and they do their job without stealing the spotlight.
Now, the key point: flavor. It’s good—clean, straightforward, and honest. This is well-executed fast food with a clear identity. The profile is classic Nashville-style: bold spices, noticeable cayenne, and a vinegar-forward kick that hits first.
That said, let’s be clear: if you have a Latin palate and you’re used to deep, real heat, the mild falls short. It doesn’t really burn from spice—it burns from acidity. After a couple of bites, you get used to it, but don’t expect it to make you sweat.
Is it worth it? Yes. It’s not the best fried chicken on the planet, but it’s consistent, tasty, and a solid recommendation if you want something different within American fast food. Go at least once—just know exactly what you’re getting.
I didn’t get my food until 4:33 PM, after asking about my order twice. When they finally gave me my food, they forgot the shake and I had to remind them again.
While waiting, I saw multiple customers asking for their orders, plates, and forks because nothing was being called out. There were several completed orders just sitting on the counter without anyone announcing the numbers, so people didn’t even know their food was ready. The whole place felt disorganized and poorly managed, with staff laughing and talking while customers were waiting instead of moving with any sense of urgency.
The worst part was the condition of the containers my food came in. The lids had grease and sauce all over them before I even opened the boxes (see photos). That made me question the cleanliness of the food prep area and honestly made me uncomfortable eating the food.
For $35.69 for two meals and a shake, this level of service is unacceptable. The food itself may be good, but the management at this location seriously needs to improve organization, cleanliness, and customer service.
