A lil Grinch love

While on our anniversary road trip through Santa Claus, In, we found this little pizzeria that is famous for their Grinch Pizza. We knew we had to go!

After entering, we were so tickled by the Grinch decor everywhere. Definitely playing along with the theme of the city in a different way, but a fun one for sure!

We decided to go with the buffet, but unfortunately were disappointed. The place was really not that crowded when we were there, but they couldn’t keep the pizza buffet filled. The soup and salad bar was fine. From what I could tell, it seemed there were a lot of phone orders coming in which is great for the business, but not so much for those dining in. The servers were great about picking up plates and such, but we had long periods of time waiting for the pizza and then it was just one for all the diners who ordered the buffet.

I was really hoping for a good experience for our fun holiday themed anniversary trip, but did not have one.

The servers were friendly and could really get some great tips if they were able, but due to the kitchen being out of their control, I would guess they don’t get what they would deserve.

There is also an ice cream shop within.

It was fun seeing the Grinch decor, but would probably not return to dine.

Closes at 9pm every night. Kid’s menu offered. Does not accept reservations.

December 20th. Of course its going to be busy, but also, December 20th comes every year. We got the buffet to do quick in and out eating. At any given time there was about 3 slices of pizza up there. We have 3 teenagers who don’t eat supreme pizza and that’s all they had the whole time. We also never was asked if we needed refills on our drinks. 88 dollars gone, and we will never be back.
Reply to owner: no we didn’t ask to speak to a manager, I hate doing that. The buffet was probably full until dinner time, because between 5 and 615, there was nothing. Our teenagers barely ate anything (and yes they know how to pick stuff off that they don’t like). The pizza that was out there was old and hard…the 3 pieces that were there. It was our first and last time coming. I guess we should have ordered off the menu? I don’t know.

Arrived in Santa Claus Indiana early for a family get away. Our hotel Santa’s lodge had a pizza place (fat Santa’s) that was closed even though Google said they were open so we decided to head to subway which also didn’t update their Google. We found a pizza place nestled behind subway in the plaza and decided to give them a try. We were greeted by an older female staff member who gave us a warm welcoming. Pizza was amazing for the price and the breadsticks were amazing. 5 stars for this little pizza place we will be back before our trip is over for some amazing pizza!

Went last Sunday after leaving Holiday World to eat here on a whim as we were visiting Santas Village Shops around it and decided to eat here with the menu saying there was a Pizza, Salad, and Soup bar.

When we entered, we got seated immediately and were helped by the staff with our drink orders. Service was top notch for the time we were there as there was no one else dining in, just a lot of take out orders. Pizza Bar was not available, so I had to go with a Chicken Sandwich while my wife got the loaded Nachos. Overall the time was great, just disappointed in the Pizza Bar not being available at the time we went. Overall 5 stars for this place as it’s clean, staff is friendly, and the food was delicious. Portions are a generous size too so we had to get some takehome plates to take half of our food home to enjoy later.

We were visiting from out of town and were starving after driving and thought that pizza, salad bar, barbecue and wings sounded pretty good. We were sat down and our drink orders were taken then we ordered our food. My husband got the all you can eat salad bar because he wanted to try the ham and bean soup. What we weren’t told was that the salad bar was about to be picked up so whenever he went to go get the soup and salad that was barely anything left and they had already turned off the refrigerator to the salad bar. There was hardly any soup left, and whatever was left was very chunky and did not look appetizing. Then whenever we ordered our meals we both had meals that had pulled pork. Our waitress didn’t inform us that they were out of pulled pork so somebody came busting through the kitchen, yelling at our waitress about how they didn’t have any pulled pork. (I felt bad for our waitress) so then she came back over and we had to pick out new food. (keeping in mind that their most popular food items include pulled pork)
Food came out super quick, but unfortunately, wasn’t that good. All the staff were very nice. The entire time we felt kind of rushed I think they may have been closing because they were picking up the salad bar after we had only been there for five minutes. Super cute Grinch theme though!

Food was excellent, especially the breadsticks, BBQ wings and buffalo chicken pizza. The Grinch decorations throughout the restaurant are cute. Some nights they have a pizza and salad buffet, but not the night we went. We dined in and the staff was very friendly and efficient. We came here a few years ago and they have since remodeled. It’s close to Holiday World and Santa’s Lodge and an ideal place for families. You can dine in or carry-out.

Got Charged for sandwich toppings and cheese on sandwich that included cheese .

Service wasn’t that great. Felt rushed trying to order and the young girl taking the order didn’t smile once . She seemed ready to go home honestly, which is understandable. Food was amazing !! Ordered grilled tenderloin sandwich and she asked me was lettuce tomato pickle onion ok and I said yes then when we received the check I got charged 25c for each item. ($1 total) That was odd! Also my 9 year ordered a ham and cheese sandwich and the menu said ham AND CHEESE and then on the ticket they charged $6.99 for the ham and cheese and $1 for “add cheese” they said the sub sandwich does not include cheese even tho the menu said ham AND cheese . They wouldn’t take it off my ticket . Like I said the food was awesome tho. Place decorated cute with the grinch

It’s Grinch theme which is kind of cute. They were busy but we got a table almost immediately. They took our drink order and the adults got the salad bar which was a pleasant surprise. We then proceeded to wait an hour for our food. We asked about it twice and come to find out, it somehow didn’t get rang up properly and sent to the kitchen. So over an hour later we got our food which was tasty but not worth the wait. They ended up comping the salad bar but the server should have caught that our food was taking too long. We won’t go back.

Website claims they are open until 7pm on Sunday. We arrived at approximately 5:30 from out of town where their OPEN sign was ON and were told all their ovens and fryers were already off and they had already taken the salad bar down as well so we could only get certain things. We opted to leave but walked back by at 6:20pm and all their chairs were already on top of the tables. As a former restaurant manager if you advertise you are OPEN until a certain time, then you are OPEN with all food options OPEN! Also— when we did sit down before deciding to leave, they never even came over to take our drink order because they were too busy telling other customers they had shut down their fryers, etc. Just bad business all around! Very disappointing!

My friend and I were the only customers in the restaurant when we visited and they placed us at a table directly next to staff- within arms length. Most awkward experience in a restaurant we have ever experienced. Restaurant was super quiet and staff was really loud- which I normally wouldn’t care about, but… Staff would sit there and talk about another staff member that walked off. When that one would come back and another would walk off they would start talking about that one. Staff member got in trouble right in front of us then was told to take our order while we were both sitting there awkward and flabbergasted while the other person continued to stand over them. Staff – who was standing right beside our table- called and chewed someone out for being late. Food was ok, but we ended up just paying and leaving most of it uneaten because we wanted out of there.
