We visited Shri Krishna over the weekend and had a really good experience. Even though it was busy, the service was quick and well managed.
The Gobi Manchuria was yummy , definitely a highlight. The soup was okay. We ordered the weekend thali, which easily serves two people. It came with dal, sambar, rasam, paneer curry, carrot curry, one fry, white rice, pulihora, curd, sweet, and puri. A good spread with nice variety.
We also had tatti idli, which was soft and well made, along with a couple of cocktails. The drinks were good and went well with the meal.
Overall, it was a pleasant visit with tasty food and efficient service. A nice place to enjoy a relaxed weekend meal.
The dining experience was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and the establishment met with universal satisfaction. We highly recommend this restaurant as a premier destination for South Indian cuisine in the Plano area.
All tasted good except the kottuparotta.
Best one is the Appetizer- not greasy and no heavy flour coating.
Service was good, liked the decor and ambience. The lady who served us checked multiple times if we needed anything, asked for feedback on taste. Would love to visit again.
If you are looking for an authentic South Indian breakfast experience that transports you straight to the heart of Bangalore or Mysore, this spot is a must-visit. The restaurant perfectly balances a great ambience—clean, welcoming, and vibrant—with high-quality, traditional flavors.
Here is a breakdown of the Karnataka-style feast we enjoyed:
The Starters & Classics
* Poori Sagu: The pooris were golden and puffed to perfection, but the real star was the Sagu. Unlike the typical potato masala found elsewhere, this was a true Karnataka-style vegetable sagu—creamy, infused with coconut, and subtly spiced with green chilies and poppy seeds.
* Mini Idli with Sambhar: These tiny buttons of joy were incredibly soft. Drowned in a bowl of hot, slightly sweet Karnataka-style sambhar (with that distinct hint of jaggery and fresh sambhar powder), every bite was comforting.
* Sambhar Vadai: The vadai maintained its crunch even after being soaked. The contrast between the crispy exterior and the flavorful, lentil-rich sambhar was spot on.
The Dosa Selection
The dosas here are a masterclass in texture—thick and soft on the inside with a crisp, buttery crust.
* Podi Ghee Dosa: Heavily coated with aromatic pudi (chutney powder) and a generous lashing of ghee. It was spicy, nutty, and incredibly savory.
* Kara Masala Dosa: This had the perfect “red chutney” smear on the inside. It was spicy and bold, paired beautifully with the potato palya.
* Cheese Ghee Dosa: A great fusion option for those who want something richer. The melted cheese blended surprisingly well with the traditional ghee aroma, making it a hit for both kids and adults.
The Sweet Ending
* Kesari Bath: We finished with the dessert, and it needs a lot of improvement. Could have been better.
This restaurant manages to capture the soulful essence of Karnataka’s culinary heritage. Whether you’re a fan of the classic “Darshini” style or looking for a comfortable sit-down meal with great vibes, this place delivers on all fronts.
