I had the Kumamoto, again, served with two delightful sauces. The chowder was solid, and the combo fried fish was freshly dipped and fried, not premade from a bag. Coleslaw was perfect, on the sweet side.
If you time your visit right you can have the place to yourself, but even with packed seats, service is fast.
Fortunately, we had the exact same five star experience that we had in September. We will be back!
September 2025 update:
Stopped by again on a Sunday around 11:45am and we were the only ones there so again we had our choice of seats. Friendly server at the bar, delivered menus right away and took our drink orders. The Squaxin Island Signature Saute with shrimp and tequila lime sauce was again super delicious and delivered hot on the plate within 10 mins after ordering. Sauteed vegetables were very fresh, shrimp were tasty and rice pilaf was also very good. Bucket of mussels were also served hot and were very tasty. Fries were crispy, hot and delicious. The chef must still be the same because the food consistently comes out of the kitchen well-prepared, hot and always delicious.
We were impressed with the food and service at this seafood bar/restaurant and highly recommend the Signature Saute dishes and Bucket of mussels. We will again return next time we are anywhere nearby.

The Thanksgiving menu at Squaxin Island Seafood Bar was a gastronomic masterpiece. Every dish was a symphony of flavors that showcased the culinary expertise of the chefs. From the perfectly roasted turkey to the decadent sides and scrumptious desserts, each bite was a journey of delight for the taste buds. It was evident that careful thought and attention to detail went into crafting a menu that celebrated the essence of Thanksgiving while adding a unique twist with the freshness of seafood.
The service at Squaxin Island Seafood Bar was nothing short of top-notch. The staff’s attentiveness and genuine hospitality enhanced the overall dining experience. From recommendations on the menu to ensuring our glasses were never empty, the level of service exceeded my expectations. The staff’s passion for providing an exceptional dining experience truly shone through.
While reveling in the deliciousness of the Thanksgiving spread, I couldn’t help but wish that Squaxin Island Seafood Bar served their Thanksgiving menu more often. The combination of traditional Thanksgiving fare with the restaurant’s signature seafood flair was a match made in culinary heaven. It’s a testament to the creativity and skill of the chefs, and I would love the opportunity to indulge in such a delectable experience throughout the year.
In conclusion, Squaxin Island Seafood Bar has set the bar high for holiday dining. If you’re looking for a place that seamlessly blends a warm atmosphere, exceptional service, and a Thanksgiving menu that will leave your taste buds singing, look no further. My only regret is that Thanksgiving comes but once a year—I can’t wait to return and relive the magic at Squaxin Island Seafood Bar!
Manilla Steamed Clams very tender and flavorful. I wish it had a little more garlic and spice.
Tequila Lime Shrimp WOW!! Shrimp were tender and sweet. The Yequila Lime sauce was a great decision. The bartender made the recommendation.
Our food we left to our American cousins to choose and he chose carb cocktail and a mixed salad each to start then followed by a 1Lb of shrimp and the seafood bucket.
When I saw the price of the crab cocktail being a tight Yorkshire man my wallet died.
Man when it came it was huge, normally you get a small dollop of crab on a bulk out of lettuce, you don’t realise how much crabmeat is in 8oz was a meal in itself.
The main of the seafood bucket and shrimp was also very good.
A tradition of our family visits to Olympia has always been to go to The Oyster House however after this a new transition is born.
See you guys in a couple of years ABW.
P.s. The seafood/tomato relish you provide with the crab that has the horseradish kick is awesome you should bottle it if you don’t already.
