Food, service, and atmosphere has much improved since our last visit a few years ago.
Mutiny Bay Burger was cooked perfectly, along with the onion rings. We will be back again soon!

I enjoyed the fish, chowder, and a hot toddy.
Wait wasn’t too bad on a busy weekend. No reservation needed.
All ages ok. Parking plentiful.
Staff were attentive and helpful.
Decor is sports bar meets art community.
Limited menu but all tasty.

Stellar service! Fun atmosphere, excellent cocktails. We had burgers, which were cold rare in the middle…one of us really doesn’t enjoy not knowing we need to ask for medium rare for ground meat product. Otherwise, the burgers were grand. They ran out of onion rings before we could try them, so I guess we will be going back again.

Good food and cozy atmosphere. Came in on a snow day and they were short staffed so the waits all around were long, but totally understandable given the situation. While they were out of a lot that day, the burgers were great, fries very crispy, and the wings good. The only thing is the French dip sandwich was SUPER salty – the sandwich itself was already pretty salty but the dip was waaay salty, even given that it’s supposed to be on the salter side. Would come again to try their wraps and chili!

A pub like this does feel like a place where everyone knows your name. We were greeted warmly at the door, and decided to grab a couple seats at the bar. It was packed with the lunchtime rush. (Not a bad thing at all.) They have a nice selection of cocktails and beers. Noticed they fresh squeezed every orange and lime used in the drinks! We both went with the French Dip. It was tasty, the caramelized onion added a nice flavoring. Fries were good too. Prices were fair and service was spot on. Granted our server was Susan, one of the owners. Truly is friendly place you’ll want to come back to!

Came here for chowder. No chowder. Appetizers took much longer than expected for an empty restaurant. None of the food tasted very good. (Burger, wings, fried pickles, fish & chips, tots) Too oily for one.

Hamburger brought out bloody, but tasted ok. French fries & mozzarella sticks very good. Service terrific, and they were really busy.

If you don’t like friendly service, delicious food, a cool chill vibe, sports on TV and a pool table, or a convenient location — this ain’t the place for you. But if you DO like any of those things, you’ll love Spyhop. Simply a gem, just steps away from the Langley waterfront.

We absolutely love Spyhop and make a point to visit every time we’re in Langley. It’s one of those rare spots that manages to feel both laid-back and thoughtfully run—a perfect fit for the Whidbey Island vibe. It’s our go-to place when we’re with family, including little kids, and we’ve always felt incredibly welcome.
The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, but the food is top-notch. The menu has a great variety, with something for everyone—from hearty burgers to fresh seafood to creative vegetarian options. Everything we’ve tried has been consistently delicious. That said, the sweet potato fries are next-level. Perfectly crispy on the outside, tender inside, and seasoned just right—they’re a must-order every time.
What really sets Spyhop apart is the balance they strike between quality and comfort. You never feel rushed, the staff is friendly and easygoing, and the space is just as good for a lazy lunch as it is for a casual dinner. Whether you’re dropping in after a beach walk or looking for a family-friendly dinner spot, you can’t go wrong here. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in town!

I am very picky about deep fried pickles. I am pleased to say they have a decent offering. Even after the cooking process they remained slightly crunchy and still very dill in flavor. The burger was juicy. The fries were average, a little on the salty side. I would come here again. Special props for being open after 5pm, which appears to be the closing time of everything in Langley on even the most beautiful of summer evenings.
