I have now been to this restaurant four times. It has been clean each time. Staff has been friendly, courteous and has provided great service. Food quality has been good and very tasty. My favorite thing about this restaurant is that they have genuine homemade french fries that are the best, generally.
Once out of the four in-dining and take-out meals (I can’t remember how many times we’ve done take-out now), the fries were overcooked. The waitress offered to send them back and get a new order, but we did not have the time for that. I did ask her to mention to the cook that if they are over cooked in the future, he/she may want to just start over. I do understand that there are some people that like their french fries well-done – I’m just not one of them 🙂

Based on the strong reviews, I expected more. While the service was friendly, it was very slow. We waited 10 minutes for our drinks and to give our food order. When the food arrived, the kids meal pizza was overdone, a medium-well burger was completely pink, and an order of tater tots was replaced with cold fries. Although the place wasn’t terribly busy, all tables seemed to be experiencing the same issues (long waits and order mistakes). Hard to say if the food is really that good, since it wasn’t quite what we ordered. The place was clean, though.

Great food!! Right off Route 12 on our way home from Wisconsin Dells. We were hungry, food was great, reasonable prices and friendly staff. Bloody mary was fantastic, finally fixed my craving… the best one I had this week (and we were in Wisconsin!) We’ll be sure to stop in Spring Grove, again!

Stopped tonight for dinner, and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious and service was great. And dessert was just phenomenal! The only unfortunate thing was that more people and/or families were not there enjoying a meal.
Definitely need to take the family here for lunch or dinner!

Fantastic food and super friendly staff! I was treated like family. Great place for weeknight dinners and the Friday fish fry is awesome! Spring Grove is lucky to have this restaurant. I will be making a weekly visit.

I don’t often write reviews, but I have to say this place was WONDERFUL!!! We are a family of five and were looking for something different in our area than the usual restaurants, and stumbled upon this place! And I am so glad we did.
The atmosphere is wonderful inside and out. Almost like a rustic urban tavern pub feel. Very clean and fresh feeling. The staff very friendly & attentive anything from orders, drink refill, and simply just made us feel valued. The food was great! As a hardcore low carb lifestyle mom, I only choose places that actually offer more than just burgers, fries, and high carb foods. I need an option of a good steak/chicken/fish with real veggies, and a vibrant salad. I personally love when I get a good quality side salad that is very fresh and vibrant!! I loath restaurants that serve wilted old greens :(. But here it was spot on, with a great ranch dressing to boot! My ribeye was okay, I just happen to really prefer a sirloin steak. If they had a sirloin on the menu I would have gone with that (maybe they did and I didn’t see it?). I do, however, love that the streak included mushrooms and onions on top that complimented it very well. And the garlic green beans were freaking yummy! Crunchy & flavorful, a real veggie! My son ordered chicken alfredo that turned out to be the bomb as everyone all dug their forks in his dish. They all agreed they wanted what he had next dinner out there, lol! Very flavorful, well seasoned, creamy, cheesy, with a good amount of well seasoned grilled chicken inside the pasta, Not to mention it was a huge portion that he made lunch for the next few days.
The prices were extremely reasonable and that was with a couple glasses of wine and two deserts we split as a family. I really couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised with this place. Oh! and they have a beautiful bar that my husband & I will definitely start a date night out in before dinner without the kids ;). So even if you’re just looking for a nice place to hang out for a few drinks…this is perfect! All in all…we will most definitely be going back to Spring Grove Tavern & Tap. Both for family dinners out & date nights!

Wow. For as decent as this place was, I’m really surprised how empty it was. The food was done great, and the staff was beyond friendly. Two issues kept this from a 5 star though. It was VERY slow… It took forever for our meal, even for as dead as it was. Secondly the beef on the kabobs, and the Philly cheese steak sandwich was insanely fatty. I’m one who usually chews and swallows anything attached to dead cow, but I couldn’t get through the gristle in the kabobs. That said, I’m sure we’ll be back!!!

Fantastic place. The food is great, atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is incredibly friendly and assisting. No wait to get in, the place was almost empty when we got there. Definitely coming back for the fish and chips.

The only place in Spring Grove that you can watch a game, have great food, have great service and actually be able to enjoy you’re local neighborhood establishment. Also a great family environment! It’s a must go to. Good food, good people and exceptional service!

Been here back in July. Food was bland and service was slow. We figured to give it another try today and even checked the hours online to go today. It says they’re open online, but when we got there, the doors were locked. How can you run a business successfully if you change hours last minute on your customers?!
