I ordered brunch from spot diner recently, and the experience was disappointing. Parts of the pancakes were noticeably undercooked, which raised some concerns right away. Unfortunately, a few hours later I ended up feeling nauseous and experienced what seemed like food poisoning. Overall, not a meal I’d return for.

Friendly staff, comfortable if basic and unopinionated interior. Typical diner menu that’s serviceably made with large portions. They’ve started adding more interesting options to their menu like their Mexican breakfast items, and I hope they keep up with that. It’s a Pepsi place.

Keto friendly, the staff is nice- food is good but there are definitely better diners around NJ. Keto friendly menu. I had the chicken salad club and it was definitely fresh, the presentation was nice with the little fry basket.
My only complaint is the place is very outdated and there is no parking.

Highly recommend ordering from the daily specials they offer. We’ve had a few of their specials and each one is awesome!
Particularly if you like latin flavors, the kitchen staff know how to cook!!

This blissful diner is a hidden gem of this small town. The restaurant is newly renovated so it looks clean and very relaxing. The menu has so many different food options, like the classic childhood breakfest waffles and pancakes. They even have foods like steak! I really enjoyed the seating and my waitress Ishani, it is truly the best! She really cares about the establishment and made sure my experience is superb!

So I was looking for a place to grab bkfast on my way to the office. And stumbled into this diner. I ordered eggs over easy which came with home fries and toast. I added Canadian bacon to the combo. I should have known something was up when I walked in at 9am and the place was empty. The kitchen staff sitting, just hanging out.
First the positives: the staff is friendly and welcoming. Hence the two stars.
But it ends there. The home fries were dry and leathery. Like they were old and refried over and over again. Couldn’t eat them. The bacon was like it didn’t see the grill at all. And the toast was burned, not buttered. I realized they didn’t give me butter or jelly when I opened the bag.
Coffee was so so. I asked for cream. They put milk. Wasted $15 for an absolutely horrible breakfast.
Definitely not a place to go back unless they get their act together or change management. It’s as simple as that!

I recently enjoyed a delightful breakfast at The Spot Diner in South Orange. Ishani, our waiter, made the experience exceptional. Her friendly and attentive service set a wonderful tone for the morning. She was knowledgeable about the breakfast menu, offered fantastic recommendations, and ensured everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was delicious, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. I highly recommend The Spot Diner for a great breakfast experience, and be sure to ask for Ishani – she truly stands out!
