We got lunch portions of the chicken chettinad and chicken kolhapuri. Hard to say which was better as they were both delicious. If you love spicy dishes these will hit your taste without being overpowering (we love spice and found the spice level around a medium). Amazing portions for the lunch dishes: you get a lot for a cool twelve bucks.
We also tried dahi puri for the first time and can highly recommend; the right blend of tartness and sweetness to offset the main dishes.
Only picked up but both workers–an older man and woman (owners, maybe?)–were very sweet and polite. The inside is clean and has the feel of a high-end hole-in-the-wall (if that makes sense).
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by warmth—and much of that comes from the incredible hostess, Renu. She is a genuinely warm-hearted person whose positive energy reflects in everything she does. Her big, welcoming smile and motherly presence make you feel instantly at ease. Food here isn’t just about flavors; it’s about the good energy with which it’s prepared and served—and Renu embodies that spirit beautifully.
Originally from Mumbai, Renu brings authentic street-food magic to the table. Her vada pav and pav bhaji are among the best you’ll find—rich, comforting, and deeply satisfying. Every dish can be customized to your preferred spice level, making the experience personal and just right every time. The meals are delicious, yes—but they’re also served with care, gentleness, and heart.
I’ve been coming to Chai Wyy Cafe for a long time, and it remains a calm, quiet, and comforting space where you can truly slow down and enjoy your food. Consider this my two-cents’ advice: come here, try the food, meet Renu, and experience for yourself how good food paired with good energy can lift your day.
Highly recommended.
While the food isn’t gourmet, it’s definitely flavorful and enjoyable. Expect a no-frills dining experience, but don’t let that fool you. The quality of the food is decent, especially considering the quick service.
Overall, this restaurant is a great choice for a casual and affordable Indian meal.
