My experience at The VIEW, the restaurant inside Spirit Lake Casino, was a mixed one. While they offered daily specials like a $10 steak with a drink purchase, and a variety of menu options, the overall quality of the food didn’t impress me. The service was average, without any outstanding aspects. The saving grace was the pleasant view; however, if you’re in a larger group, be prepared to be seated in the less picturesque area, surrounded by columns and walls. The drink selection was decent, but might be limited if you’re seeking diverse cocktails. The portion sizes were standard, but the flavors lacked the “wow” factor. On the positive side, there’s ample parking outside the casino, and the facility itself was clean and well maintained.

I’ve eaten here twice. Both time have been absolutely splendid! Staff always has a good attitude & is on top of everything. Never have had any complaints. Food is magnificently delicious & have yet to need any sauce.

Wife had the pork chops which were good I had prime rib ordered medium rare. Came out we’ll done. No au jus, asked for au jus, got a cup of beef broth.

Server was very friendly during our time, but refused to disclose if the food ingredients were safe for my husband that has a serious allergy that we explained before eating. The server stated that the cooks “don’t like to reveal their secrets”, but assured us that the food was safe to order and eat. It definitely was not safe as my husband had an allergic reaction and we immediately had to administer medication the second we left (he’s stable now and recovering). I’ve come to learn that the cooks’ “secrets”, aside from cross contamination, are just overcooking the seafood. We both ordered a different meal involving the lobster and the meat from two separate kinds of lobster were both too tough to enjoy. I understand the facility is nowhere near an ocean and the food’s been shipped frozen but they could at least figure out how to properly cook what’s offered on their own menu so I’m not paying market value for butter flavored rubber. They also didn’t have all the utensils available for me to remove the lobster shell itself on the whole lobster and only told me after the meal arrived. They should not only pay for my husband’s hospital bill but should also pay to train their staff in food safety and how to actually cook. Absolute disgrace. 90$ for two, if you were wondering. In conclusion: The only thing great about The View is the view of the lake itself. Just order the generic alcohol if you find yourself here and go give your money to the casino instead.

Here for a few days ice fishing with my nephew. I rarely write reviews, and I don’t remember ever writing a negative one. I don’t know why other reviews refer to a cheap ($7.00) buffet. It was $50 per person tonight, so I paid $100 for the two of us. Food mediocre, crab legs inedible…. and the floor was something I should’ve taken a picture of. Does the place never get inspected by the health department? I thought of going back later for some blackjack, but I don’t want to go near the place again.
