Hands down the WORST Jamaican food I’ve ever tried! I am NOT trying to insult anyone because this is their business, I simply need to share MY OWN EXPERIENCE. We called in a phone order, had to give out our debt card number in order to secure the order. Since this was my first time eating here I opted for the lunch special because I did not want to waste money in case it was not good. The lunch is only chicken(fried, jerk, brown stew) which comes with rice, cabbage and plantains. I chose the fried chicken and it was horrible TO ME. The only part seasoned was the breading it was fried in, which was tough and chewy. In all of my years of eating plantains I HAVE NEVER, EVER, EVER had hard, dry plantains, zero moisture, they were dried out, not fresh at all…The cabbage were cooked with too much “bite” FOR ME, almost like raw cabbage in coleslaw and no I do not prefer my cabbage soggy, just cooked a bit more. The rice and peas were standard, nothing to talk about. To top it off I asked for gravy over my rice and peas, IT IS AN ADDITIONAL 75 CENTS! Thankfully they did not collect the money when I went in, I just wanted to make you guys aware. My family is from Spanish Town Jamaica and this was a poor representation of our food. If I don’t cook it at home, my two favorite Jamaican restaurants are OVATIONS ON RIVERSIDE PARKWAY IN THE KROGER SHOPPING CENTER(OLD SONIC RESTAURANT) AND JAY’S CARIBBEAN ON HURRICANE SHOALS RD, BOTH IN GWINNETT COUNTY. They are consistent, the food is top shelf and the customer service is outstanding! I will never waste my money again at this “Jamaican” restaurant! Also, the lunch special is small, more like kid’s meals.

The pricing here at Spicy Hill is similar to pricing in the area for Jamaican food, although they charge for gravy on rice. I’ve been to many Jamaican restaurants in multiple states, and I have never been charged for gravy on rice on a meal I’m already paying for. Additionally, the jerk chicken lacked flavor and the sweet “jerk” sauce didn’t make up for it. Service was a bit lacking, especially because they didn’t know if they had dark meat or not. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be back. There is too much competition with better options for me to come back here.

It was my 3rd visit today! I had Curry goat, rice & beans. Loved the steamed cabbage. The spice ratio was perfect. The plantains were delicious unlike most Jamaican restaurants. Also conveniently located only 3 miles from my home. I will certainly recommend to friends and family.

This place is a joke. I went to go get Akee & Saltfish. The lady asked small or large. I said Large. So the lady put one spoon full of Akee in the tray where the sides go at and another spoonful in the other side dish area. Remind you the Akee & Saltfish is suppose to be the main Entree. In addition, there was hardly any Saltfish only bare Akee. Then i looked on the menu and seen the Callaloo side was $4.50. So i ordered a side. In the middle of the plate where the Entree goes they gave me 6 big pieces of fried biscuit dough they called Dumpling. So I was charged $19 for the Akee & Saltfish and $9 for the small Callaloo even though the menu said $4.50. $30 for a Breakfast Platter that had $5 worth of Akee on it. Kno seh next time persons come to your business dunt assume dem ah Yankee who not kno any betta. Yad mon who stay here fi long time. Manners!!

Let me first say soon as you walk in it is very very very clean. ⭐️

They have a lunch special that consist of Curry, brown stew, jerk chicken for $8.99 11 am to 2pm.

I tried the brown stew, and it is definitely authentic. It has great seasoning, not salt but you can tell , they can cook.

The plantains was amazing sweet
The cabbage was even more yummy
I like the chicken was tender and moist.

Customer service was great very kind.

Definitely this was a review I had to do because will be back.

Definitely with cash in hand.

Overall great food, great customer service.

You would miss it if you are not looking it’s where a SHELL GAS station and food market.

It has a sitting area as well.

Definitely can bring family, friends and co workers.

Decided to treat myself for lunch. I got the oxtail and fried chicken platter. It was DELICIOUS!! Everything was seasoned really well. I had to make myself stop eating because I thought my stomach was going to burst. My only “complaint” is that I got the smaller pieces of oxtail, but I would still go back and still recommend this place to others.

We ordered the ox tail, cow foot and jerk chicken. All the meats were fall off the bone, the rice is parboiled rice and the cabbage and plantain was cooked and seasoned well. I appreciate how they pour the gravy over the rice, which seasons and moistens the rice deliciously.

Oh, my goodness, love at first taste. I got the chicken curry with white rice. The chicken is so tender, the curry flavor is amazing – kind of perfect in my opinion, and a generous amount of chicken and rice. This meal also came with plantains and cooked cabbage (I saw another review about the cabbage being nearly raw – mine was well-cooked). I found the meal presentation nice, as well, even though it’s in a plastic container. Also, my order was ready very quickly, maybe two minutes, which Infind very fast for the quality of my food experience. Do yourself a favor and try this place!

If I could give a 0 for the service I would. I have always supported this business because the service was pleasant but my last visit was different and rude. I politely ask for less rice&peas and more vegetables and was charged extra without being told, so i inquired why the price change from the original and was told it’s an up charged for more vegetables even though the rice amount is less. I try to support my Jamaican businesses but these type of behavior makes it so hard.

Spicy Hill Restaurant is new and I wanted to try their food. After reading some of the reviews, I was reluctant to visit the restaurant but I’m happy I decided to give them a try. First, I must say that the restaurant is very clean. Customer service was excellent. When I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by two pleasant ladies, Simone and Carol who reviewed the menu with me and helped me to decide. I bought Curried Goat and Jerk Chicken combo meal. It was delicious!. I enjoyed the meal and I will return.
