The environment was different in a fun way. It works as a nice sit-down restaurant but also has a hip vibe that younger crowds would enjoy. To top it off, the service was excellent. Jamie was amazing from start to finish—she checked on me regularly and made great recommendations based on my strict diet.
Overall, a great experience, and I’ll definitely be back!
We stopped by on a Monday and were blown away by the buffet featuring handmade tortillas and some of the best menudo I’ve ever had. Perfect for kicking off the week! They also offer incredible daily summer specials like mole enchiladas and the steak and shrimp molcajete—flavor-packed and beautifully presented.
Don’t miss their daily happy hour from 1–6pm, located inside the vibrant Macario’s Grill Cantina. With 7 TVs, it’s the perfect spot to catch a game while enjoying breaded fish tacos, stuffed shrimp, octopus chiles güeritos, or the insanely good carnitas burger and fries. Whether you’re grabbing a beer with friends or bringing a date, the vibe is dynamic and welcoming.
Planning an event? Their banquet room seats up to 60 people and even has a TV for meetings or watching the big game—perfect for family gatherings or private parties.
To top it all off, they had live music the night we visited, which made the evening feel extra special. Huge shoutout to our bartender Chris, who was friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better.
Can’t wait to go back!
Their food is outstanding and drinks are great. Their new location on Hwy 111 is an improvement from their previous location of multiple decades.
As you drive up, don’t turn away. The entrance is a little dark, but pull the door anyway.
Gabriel the owner is amazing and the food is exceptional. Macario’s recently moved from the old house they used to occupy out by the railroad tracks to a site downtown along Hwy 111, when I took my family there this weekend I was amazed to see the restaurant not as packed as usual, and I am worried that not enough people have discovered the new location or (slight) name change, the new location is much better for space and the food is always amazing.
If you like margaritas get the large Cadillac or Signature, those are incredible, then have someone else drive you home, lol.
Even my wife who is vegetarian was surprised by the quality of the fish tacos they served.
Get the Camarones Macario or Maria if you like shrimp, the portions fill you up. Rice, beans, quality. The tortilla chips are served fresh and hot.
Best Mexican food I know of in the desert, and that’s saying a lot.
For $24 for a soup and a side of rice, I expected much better quality. I don’t mind paying that price if the food tastes like it’s worth it. Based on my experience, I would not recommend it or return.
