Cannot believe I’d never discovered this place before. Best Sichuan style chinese spot in Long Island, HANDS DOWN. Fish soup, spicy beef noodle dish. Spice levels, upon request, are superb. Get over to this spot next lunch or dinner date. Every dish is great. Chow down and thank me later…

This place was really good. I got the Spicy Chicken with Dried Hot Peppers. The celery added that extra crunch that I never had with dried chili chicken. Overall I would definitely recommend this place.

Good place to try American Chinese or authentic Chinese food. Place is getting really busy in dinner time so you need to wait longer. Food is really tasty and big portions but bit oily.

As another place I frequent often, Spicy Home Tasty has some of the best tasting authentic Chinese dishes (in addition to Americanized Chinese). I recommend starting out with the soup (that is good for a couple meals for one person or for a couple people to share). It comes in a separate serving bowl that you would ladle into your own smaller bowl. (Family Style) My favorite is the hot and sour soup, but for those who don’t like spice that much I would recommend the wonton and egg drop soup combination (special request). I got the dry pot as my main meal, something they are well known for. It is a bit on the spicy side so if you are not an adventurous eater, I would recommend asking for it mild. It has a delicious mix of wood ear mushrooms, lotus root, peppers, and others in addition to your protein of choice (I recommend beef if this is your first hotpot). Portions are fair, although they are not exceptionally large. The wait staff is very fast, and have a lot of knowledge to share if you have any questions. The atmosphere is average, but otherwise the food quality and taste is exceptional. All in all this is a wonderful and authentic restaurant that I would definitely recommend if you like Chinese food. Come see for yourself!

I am very pleasantly surprised of my experience here. It is a small restuarant with plenty of parking. Service was attentive and place was clean. Atmosphere wasnt anything special, but good for a chinese restaurant.

Came here with my wife and 2 kids and we ordered 4 dishes.
1. Dry pepper fish filet – Spicy dish with fried fish filet and it was so tasty and good!
2. Salt and Pepper fish filet – this was for the kids since this isnt spicy. Kids loved it and ate it up!
3. Beef noodle soup. An authentic noodle soup that had good flavor and beef was so tender and delicious
4. Shrimp and Eggplant in garlic sauce. My favorite dish out of the 4 and I absolutely loved it!

Definitely coming back here

Small, clean, attentive place. Heard great things from several people and decided to try. We arrived towards the end of lunch special time, for apps we ordered the dumplings in hot chili oil- amazing! Best dumplings I ever had..the dough was thin the filling was plentiful, and the sauce outstanding! We also ordered the honey ribs- they were tasty and meaty but not really my thing I’d say they were above average though. For lunch specials we got the Double cooked pork and dry pepper chicken…came with side of white rice..and either soup or spring roll for 11.50..my bf got the hot and sour soup he said was very good, I got the spring roll which was outstanding, so crispy not oily at all not even a drop of oil on plate and full of garlicky vegetables! The dry pepper chicken was fried to perfection and again not oily, thin coating of breading on them so flavorful, so spicy, the only complaint I would have is it was a tad too salty for me ( but I kept eating it lol) or I would’ve gave them 5 stars..the pork was so thin ,melted in your mouth, spicy, and with the veg just awesome! I highly recommend trying this place..We can’t wait to go back!
We’ll we went back today for take out Maybe new chef ..maybe better eating in …but we were terribly disappointed…the spring rolls and dumplings in chili oil totally different! We didn’t eat them at all…meat was pink inside not sure if supposed to be that way but turned me off. The orange chicken was very good and the fried rice. Might try again but will definitely dine there!

I had reviewed this three years ago. The ownership has changed and the quality of the food took a huge plunge. I tried is two days ago, and I have to say the restaurant has made improvements to their food and menu.

The menu has been updated to reflect their current selection, and they even added some new dishes and variations to older dishes.

I order the dry hot pot with fish, and sauteed bok choy. The dry hot pot was much better, although still not as large as it had been years ago. But the quality was excellent, and the amount was pretty good. The dish had plenty of fish, and vegetables. It was not overly spicy either.

The bok choy has a bit crunchy, and not too soggy…but flavorful.

Overall I would say it has improved. They should consider updating the decor. That would add to the change in the food quality.

Great service and all the dishes came out really quickly. The noodles dishes tasted great. I had high expectations for two authentic Szechuan dishes but they both came out as disappointments. I try Fu Qi Fei Pian at almost every Szechuan restaurant and this one had a weird taste and missing salt. So, if you crave for some Chinese noodles this is still a good place to go to but myself probably wouldn’t come again.
