Spent the evening here on my birthday with 10 friends and had the absolute best time!!!!! The food was divine. Flavors unmatched, cocktails otherworldly and service stellar. Some of my friends were less familiar with Indian food and ended up trying and loving everything. Presentation was beautiful and it was truly everything I could’ve dreamed for a birthday dinner. Maddie is the best and I can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend for a casual dinner or bigger celebration if you’re looking for a laid back larger party rez with beautiful ambience and great food.

This is one of our favorite dinner spots. We love their cocktail menu and incredible attention to detail. We got to try two of their newer menu items recently and they were phenomenal. We had:
– Tadka eggs
– Chicken Tikka Masala
– Paani Poori (a must order)
– Peshawari Lamp Chops (the crispy caramelized onions bring it all together )
– Chai Espresso Martini
– Kesariya Cocktail

If you have not been here yet, we highly recommend giving them a visit!

Absolute amazing food and drinks. Most of the dishes we tried were very flavorful but on the spicy side. They do not ask spice level, but this is no big deal for me as I like some spice. Cocktails were fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

I was so excited to try Spice Trail’s food for the first time today and it did not disappoint! I got food delivered to the office, the Kathi Roll with tandoori chicken and I didn’t want it to end! WOW! If you’re unfamiliar with this type of food, think flaky flatbread style sandwich with a creamy cabbage slaw! I got a side of the cilantro-mint and sweet tomato chutney and I’m already thinking about when I’m going back for more! The paratha was still crispy and perfectly flaked. Thank you for a lovely lunch!!! (Sorry, no pics, I ate it too fast)

Been wanting to try spice trail finally we got to go.

The garlic naan tasted like stone fire brand naan from Publix it definitely was not made in house. It’s Like they put chili oil on it and threw it on a flat top and called it their own. Don’t get me wrong I love that brand. It tasted good but wish it was homemade.
We had a couple tapas lamb balls comes with only 3 they were ok and chicken masala was ok had a lot of potatoes in it. Husband had the shrimp very over priced but the sauce was very good and sweet although shrimp was overcooked and tough. The sauces tasted the best wish we had hot fresh naan to soak up the juice ,the food was mediocre . The Thai tea tasted like watery hot milk with cloves . Kat was a great server as well as our host . The restaurant was very tiny if you’re a bigger person it is difficult to move around and you’re on top of other guests. It was clean . Decorated very cute. If you’ve never had Indian food I recommend but if expect true homemade ,it’s not it. Unfortunately We probably won’t go again. It wasnt that it was bad it just wasn’t anything special . Location was kinda hard to find parking was on the street.

Best Indian restaurant in Chattanooga. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. They don’t have as many vegetarian options as other Indian places but the one the do have are good. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the restaurant was cozy and nice. The drinks at the bar were also delicious.

Good and not so good.
Took a party of four on a Wednesday night, slow restaurant night. About half full. The good: everyone in my party thought the taste and flavors were as good as any Indian food they had experienced. (and some of us have traveled through India). I especially enjoyed the Samosa. The dishes were sequenced as the waitress put it, with the smalls before the mains. We were in a quiet side room, which made conversation easy. There was music in the background with an overpowering base drum that my wife found annoying. Flatware was high-quality with linen napkins, felt upscale. The Indian beer I had was delicious, flavorful and cold. It did not have the stale taste that some imported beers have. The price, averaged out to $25 a person, also seemed very reasonable for a downtown location and made to order food(not a pre-made microwaved dish).

The not so good: I wanted a cold drink after a long hot walk to the restaurant. Was basically told nothing cold was available, (no ready-made iced tea, and no artificial sweeteners) only the room temperature water being served at the table. They did have cold beer but only two types, both Indian, in a large 22 ounce bottle, see pic ., an IPA, the other a lager, previously mentioned.
We were left, 10+ minutes, at the table with a menu we found confusing. Examples. There were “Small plates” which included chicken, tiki masala, which we considered a main course. Among the “Mains” was a dish, chicken Makhani, at other restaurants was a chicken in a buttery type stew. But description underneath called it tandoori chicken, which was typically chicken baked in an oven with a crispy red crust. So we did not know what to order or how much until the waitress returned and explained the menu and her assumption that we all wanted to share our meals with each other.
We got 4 smalls and 3 mains for two large men and two small women. Turned out to be like “tapas.”We ate every speck of the delicious food but the men left hungry. The smalls and mains seemed the same small size. Since the service was fairly slow, two hour dinner,
we did not order more, but went home where the men snacked and had dessert.

I really love this place. It feels so cozy, the service is always amazing, and the food is great. We went for Valentine’s Day and it was nice to be able to eat everything with my dietary restriction (dairy). Also I always love a good moody light situation in the main dining room.

Probably the fanciest Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to. The appetizers, mains, and desserts were all amazing and a bit spicy but still delicious. I never knew gulab jamun could be turned into a cake. The drinks were excellent and the service was great as well.

Excellent is an understatement to describe my entire experience at Spice Trail. Madi was knowledgeable of the menu and had good recommendations, while also being friendly and attentive. The house music that was playing perfectly fit with the modern yet comfortable ambiance. The portions seemed small, but the entire meal was quite filling with the medium spice bringing more heat than expected. Arguably the best garlic naan I have ever had. Highly recommend to check out, especially for date night.
