The most very basic dish went so terribly awfully weong, though. It’s almost hard to imagine how it went so wrong. Flavor was totally off, as if all the wrong spices were used and did not taste good at all. Pineapple fried rice should be FRIED. Half of the rice was uncooked/raw and crunchy/hard. The other half seemed soaked in water and super soggy but it was all mixed in as if it was being cooked for the first time and then stopped. It’s one of the most basic dishes for a Thai restaurant…there’s even a YouTube video of a very young child making it. It’s supposed to START with cooked rice on the dry side. It is obvious that this was made with raw uncooked rice. It was the worst fried rice we have ever tasted, pineapple or otherwise. As in… Ever. Cannot go back to a restaurant that gets the most basic food completely wrong. Waste of $16+tax and waste of food bc it was uncooked and inedible. It was a brick of congealed halfway cooked rice with bits of mashed pineapple and really tough chicken. Went through the entire brick to take photos of uncooked rice and then threw it all out.
Crying tiger is my favorite followed by pad see ew, any of the curries, pad thai, tom yum soup. Would highly recommend for lunch but not as much for dinner, there’s a price increase and the side of rice is no longer complimentary.
This is easily the most authentic Thai food I’ve had in a long time. I get Panang chicken every place I go. And they make it EXACTLY how I remember it to be from Thailand. Also, my Thai ex that could cook better than most restaurants I eat in. Exactly the same. That smooth thick curry with a clean rich flavor of coconut and spices.
My only issue was the chicken itself. It was just a tad chewy and dry but, traditionally, that’s why curry was put on chicken so being a little dry is kind of more authentic, lol. Seriously, though, I would like to go again and i hope that the chicken is a little more moist.
But, judging by the flavor of the curry, I’m sure I can give it another shot without worrying.
Thank you for making our outing w our team so perfect.
