They were out of the special so I opted for the “club sandwich” thinking it was a safe bet. Well what I got was a soggy ham n turkey n cheese melt with to much mayo n shredded lettuce n tomato. So I call to see if I can get my “club sandwich” I paid for.I’m told repeatedly “that’s how they make there “club sandwich’s””.I said if it’s cooked, it’s not a “club sandwich”. I was incredulous. So I said again “but that’s not a club sandwich” and was again told by woman in a voice one could only call that’s how they’ve always made theirs. I couldn’t make the woman understand the simple fact that when you cook the meat n cheese, it’s no longer a damn club sandwich. it’s a turkey ham n cheese melt. I went so far as google “are club sandwiches cooked?”. It plainly stated a Real club sandwich! is cooked bacon with COLD ham,turkey n cheese sometimes roast beef. Cold I tell you!also with lettuce n tomato’s.on toast. Typically cut in 4 pieces with tooth picks through the triangles. That’s a club sandwich from Maine toSan Diego. You can call it a “club sandwich”but it’s not so ya ripped me off and the onion rings were dropped in oil that wasn’t ready. It’s not rocket surgery. It’s always been good til tonight but after that willful ignorance and unwillingness to make it right, il never go back. You can call an egg a screwdriver but it’s still an egg. ITS NOT A CLUB IF THE MEAT N CHEESE ARE COOKED,folks.I’d never ordered it knowing they didn’t know what a club sandwich was. What can ya do folks are stuck on some bad information?

We were passing through staying one night and decided to DoorDash this place! It was delicious! I can’t say anything bad. We had the flounder platter with perfectly cooked baked potato and deviled eggs, hush puppies. Everything was So good!

Fot $10.99 I got 3 chicken tenders that looked like this and fries that were definitely not fresh and no salt or season at all. Never again will my wife and I eat here again.

This is the best version of your typical, hole in the wall diner. Decorated in vintage 50s with 50s pop playing, it definitely sparks nostalgia. Speedy’s has daily specials like pot roast and meatloaf, but consistently keeps all the diner favorites on the menu. Locals’ favorite is thr taco salad, but I’m partial to side winders. Keep in mind, this is a small establishment, who does a lot of take out too, and since they are cooking all your food fresh, you might have a short wait. It’s worth it.

Delightfully delightful! It was crowded so we knew we were in for something special. Everything is homemade even the desserts! I watched the cook use a piping bag to squeeze homemade hush puppy batter into the fryer so you know we had to have some of those! Everything was delicious. You could tell our meal was made with love. Super friendly atmosphere. By the time we left we didn’t feel like strangers in an unfamiliar place. Speedys is where it’s at!

A favorite from way back. I worked at the local hospital in Eden, NC from 1997-2003.
Speedys (Cliff’s then) became my weekly favorite lunch spot. Skeptical at first due to the location and aesthetics, but quickly learned it is a gem of a joint. Small and in demand.
The Taco Salad with ‘Ma’s Dressing’ is like no other. It was my go to then … and just having started going back this past year, it is still on my list of lunch favorites. My friends that I meet up with all rave about the other menu items, but I’m a creature of habit and still order the Taco Salad.
Service is prompt. Not being a ‘local’ anymore, friendliness is what you’d expect. Order, eat and leave.

Edit: I tried to post a photo of the food but it would not upload for some reason. The food was good, BUT! The amount of food was not enough for the price I paid. It was almost 9 dollars for this small amount of Teriyaki chicken, rolls, this small amount of onion rings & hush puppies. I wish more chicken came with this. I’m not a very big person, and usually 9 dollars worth of food fills me up, this did not fill me up at all. That’s my only complaint. This is the first thing I have ordered from here. I definitely won’t get Teriyaki chicken again, unless they up portion size.
