My wife told me that she has a co-worker that stated that Spanky’s had the best Buffalo Wings in Jacksonville NC. Well being from Upstate NY, and personally KNOW that I make the best wings in Jacksonville, I wanted to put them to the test! Keep in mind that I actually missed Breakfast, and it’s now early lunch time. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak with Tots, 9.5 out of 10 . Then my wings arrived. I could tell by the smell of the hot sauce, and vinegar balance was on point. The Verdict! On a scale of 1=low, and 10=high. Compared to my home wings!!!!
Price for weight: 9.5. Very satisfied in the size of each wing.
Cook to perfection: 9.5. The game is never fair once you introduce sauces, but I was still able to still feel the crunch.
Taste: 9.5 !!! From this point on, when I don’t feel like making my own wings, Spanky’s will be my only call!!! FoodLion , BDubs ☹️, Publix ☹️.

Walked in and saw the Packers G on the floor and then all the other Packers decor and memorabilia. Loved it! Friendly folks happy to talk about the former owner who was a Packers fan. Great price on beer. We didn’t get food although they were running a wings special.

If you like the dive bars atmosphere this place is right up your alley. The place is cut up a little funny and doesn’t have the greatest selection of beer, but the people watching is pretty good. The wings I had were great. Honestly the bartender Melodi is the reason this place got 4 stars. She is very personable and attentive. I will definitely go back when I am in Jacksonville the next time.

Well I guess there is this saying that you get what you get. As far as cuisine, I’ve seen the cooks serve cold hot dogs. Wait to be fair, they were room temperature. For service I was there for over an hour and no one asked me if I wanted something. So it’s self-service you have to walk to the bar to get attention. I know dive bars and some are very favorite places. This doesn’t connect for a favorite dive bar place in my opinion. Well the two stars are for friendly people

Went on a Thursday night with some friends and it was fantastic! DJ Unique on the ones and twos. Played music for the whole crowd, it was a karaoke night! The drinks are well priced which is a huge plus. Will definitely be returning.

Staff is constantly changing, food is a hit or miss, current bartenders are rude and have no customer service skills. Bathrooms were nasty and the atmosphere is extremely cringe. This was once a popular and welcoming establishment until recently. Whatever the new owners are doing that has pushed their entire customer base out would have Spanky fuming and rolling in his grave. Lastly, Spanky NEVER had to give away free food/apparel to draw in customers

They recently remodeled and changed owners. They did a nice job and the staff is as friendly and pleasant as always. Only had wings there, they were 6.5-7 / 10, not bad at all. Karaoke on Sunday is fun!!
