Originally from Louisiana and come down at least once a year to see my family. Have found that many place that used to serve amazing food when I was growing up are either gone or are not so amazing any longer. Not Spahr’s. They continue to not disappoint. Best meal we had on this trip. Everything we had was great but I was particularly fond of the Bread Pudding because they put raisins in it which most places do not do.

Spahr’s Downtown never disappoints. As someone originally from Thibodaux, stopping here is a requirement whenever I’m back in the area. I went with the classic catfish chips and fries, and of course, washed it all down with a Bloody Mary. No regrets at all—it was exactly what I needed. The food is consistently excellent, the atmosphere is spot on, and I even walked away with a new plastic cup to add to the collection. If you’re looking for the authentic taste of Lafourche Parish, this is the place to be.

Great service! I had the Crab Benedict with breakfast potatoes and my husband had a shrimp omelet with toast. Both of those meals were good. We also shared their beignets which were okay. They had too much powdered sugar and some didn’t have filling in the inside. But other than that, everything else, including the service was great. We’d go back.

3.5 because the experience was really not great but the food was really good.
We were seated after a 20 minute wait – not bad. After being seated, it took 50 minutes for our food to arrive. We ordered a starter – it came after our main dishes.
I definitely wish the service had been better so that I could have given it a better rating.
Alas … As evident from the pictures, we thoroughly enjoyed the food.

One of the best meals I’ve had in awhile. It is set up like a breakfast/brunch/lunch bistro. We split a seafood platter and it was plenty for two. We had shrimp and grits for appetizer and pain perdu for dessert. All was pretty good. Server was nice too

We had the oyster poboy and shrimp poboy. It was absolutely delicious. The waitress was very friendly. She was excellent at her job. The overall service was very good. We will definitely be back!

We stopped by on a beautiful Saturday morning for breakfast.. Had a great server JJ. We also had an opportunity to meet her lovely co-worker Carolyn who had an amazing personality. Thank you all from the moment we walked in for your friendliness and great food! We ordered the pancakes and a meat omelet! All was perfect!! We will be back soon for lunch

I went there for Happy Hour and Barmaid told me that Appetizers were half off and I even pointed at the appetizers and she said yes those but when the bill came she charged me full price and I asked her about it and she then lied to me telling me those weren’t included. Besides that the crab cakes were dry and the shrimp were ok nothing spectacular.. also be careful Wine was $13 a glass!!! Overpriced for sure

Great shrimp and grits. They ask you if you want a croissant, toast or a biscuit for your choice of bread which is nice. The steak was delicious too.
