Observe the structure: a testament to a bygone era of industrial design, now repurposed to shelter a different sort of activity. The wet pavement reflects the artificial light, creating a shimmering mirage around its base. It is a solitary giant, seemingly dormant, yet awaiting the hopeful return of a nocturnal migration of hungry travelers seeking sustenance within its cavernous halls.
One feels a sense of awe, a quiet reverence for this architectural survivor. Its windows, like the eyes of a great nocturnal beast, offer only cryptic glimpses of the life that might have onced stirred within.
And yet, amidst this silent grandeur, a young voice from the back seat – a fledgling explorer of but eight years – offers a stark, unfiltered assessment of this concrete and brick leviathan:
‘This place should be closed. It was terrible.’
A fascinating perspective, reminding us that even the most imposing of structures can be viewed through a different, more critical lens. One is left to ponder the mysteries that lie beyond those heavy wooden doors, and the stories this silent sentinel could tell, if only it could speak.
The worst part is the bread. If you have had the bread in the past, you know how good it was.
If you have the bread now, you know what I’m talking about. It is nearly inedible.
The moment we walked in, we were struck by the restaurant’s unique, nostalgic decor. It has an old boardwalk theme, complete with vintage arcade machines like the claw game and a love tester, which both my kids and my wife enjoyed. It gave the place a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
We were greeted and seated by our server, Jackie, who was fantastic throughout our visit. She was friendly, attentive, and very helpful. Unfortunately, while looking over the menu, we noticed several items that were listed but not actually available, which was disappointing.
For food, my wife chose to build her own spaghetti with the Pomodoro sauce—a blend of marinara and Alfredo—and she really enjoyed it. She also had the house salad with ranch, which she said was fresh and flavorful. My son built his own spaghetti with meat sauce and two meatballs, and he loved his meal as well. I decided on the 15-layer lasagna, which the menu described as “incredible.” Sadly, I didn’t feel the same—it looked a little burnt, tasted chewy, and reminded me more of a frozen lasagna than something freshly made.
Overall, the food was hit-or-miss. My wife and son enjoyed their meals, while mine was underwhelming. The service, however, was excellent, and Jackie really made the experience more enjoyable.
If you’re looking for a family-friendly spot with a fun atmosphere and decent spaghetti, Spaghetti Warehouse isn’t a bad choice. Just be prepared for a few menu inconsistencies and don’t expect every dish to live up to the hype.
I picked up lunch there today and I was very surprised. The bread has been changed from the staple that we all know and love to something unrecognizable. The new bread was cut from a larger loaf and super greasy. The wedding soup has changed as well. The original small meatballs we love have been replaced by chucks of meat that seem to be made from the same meat that the new meatballs are made from. I ordered the standby standard lunch size spaghetti and meatballs. The consistency of the meatballs is different and strange, and the spaghetti was very overcooked. I hope this restaurant re-considers these changes because I was fully let down.
