Cozy interior, more suitable for couples dining. Large double sushi bar, extensive menu and full hibachi offerings. The teppenyaki chicken was great, the miso was average and the salad was delicious. Above average fried rice and the California roll I had was great – note the real wasabi and ginger used. There was a lemon seed in my rice which wasn’t entirely fun to bite into (not something I am faulting), but I felt my level of customer service could have been improved. Food was above average – very good sushi.

Everything was amazing here, the ambiance was so good and they even make your sushis and food in front of you. So everything was clean and service was awesome. I liked the gyozas and miso soup so much and its so cheap. The drinks and the mochi was my favourite though. Our server was so sweet and made everything better.

Soya Sushi Bar & Bistro is top tier. The service makes you feel like you’re being served by family, and the food tastes fresh and homemade. Everything was excellent.

The atmosphere is cozy and the restaurant is very clean. You can tell they take pride in their business.

What really stood out was the owner, Tony. He personally came to our table, asked how everything was, and stayed to genuinely talk with us. It didn’t feel routine — it felt sincere.

Highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back.

Soya’s sushi bistro is an awesome place to go chill and enjoy the creative culinary skills of a fine Sushi Chef. Tony knows his fish, the waitstaff is on point.

By far, my favorite sushi restaurant!! Like, most restaurants since pandemic, it is hard to find wait staff. Usually not an issue but if it is busy, there could be slower service…but worth it! The sushi is always fresh and the rolls are fantastic. My favorites are the rainbow and the jalapeño popper roll….yum!

We have been searching for a Japanese sushi bar that resembles L.A. in its freshness, ambience, and roll choices. We were impressed and very glad to have found Soya. This restaurant has more than sushi for those who shy away from uncooked fish. So, for those in your group that desire an expanded menu, they certainly have lots of choices beyond sushi here. We were also delighted that Soya has reasonable hours as we stopped for a late lunch. Unlike the sushi bar down the street,, we were not turned away because it was not yet 5 p.m. Alexis was our server and was just wonderful. Highly recommend this restaurant, looking forward to our next visit!

Visited this restaurant with friends and family! The service was great. Our waitress was very patient with our 5 girls all
10 and under. The food came out quickly. The items listed on the menu were clearly explained and was very flavorful. My vegetarian options. Could have been seasoned more. The bathroom was clean and well stocked.

Food was good, the sushi was fresh, defintiely the highlight of the meal. The fish wasnt chewy, it kind of melted in your mouth. It was great. We also ordered a kitchen dish, the vegetable yakisoba with chicken which was ok, but definitely not on the same level as the sushi. It did taste fine, but the chicken was definitely dried out for some reason. Whether it was overcooked or sitting and reheated I couldnt tell.

Overall a decent place for decent sushi, albeit a little pricey. It is on the oceanfront so this is to be expected. I would recommend sticking to the sushi offerings. Expect to spend 5-10 dollars per standard roll, or average about 15 for each special roll.

Alcohol offerings can be a bit erratic, for example, hot sake has two sizes: small and large. These were 5 and 8 dollars. Not bad. Now for a chilled Nigori (unfiltered) sake, which is my favorite, that was running at 17 dollars a bottle (the bottles are quite small). I can get a bottle at other japanese spots for 12 bucks usually. Just an observation 🙂

Overall, everything was just average. I’ve had better sushi other places, but nothing was terrible, I guess.
