You cannot find places like this around anymore. Oh my goodness what a hidden gem. Family owned and operated for generations. You feel the love and hospitality as you walk up towards the entrance. The food is delicious, you can’t go wrong with any selection. Everything is fresh; You can taste the passion in each bite.
The cookies are phenomenal.
The pizza, man oh man, homestyle with a very generous amount of toppings. Honestly the food is so good it will make you want to marry into the family ;). Will always make a point of coming through here. Send all the love and best wishes to the family, wishing another 100 years of success.

Mom and Pop authentic Italian restaurant. The pizza is as good as it was 25 years ago! Rose & Jon still doing their thing! They were so kind to me, my debit card wasn’t working and she told me I could come back another day and pay. How kind!!!!!! The pizza is so flavorful! The crust is absolutely delicious! Their desserts— cookie and canolli are perfect! Must try!!!!!!

Delicious pizza and calzones, they can do pretty much anything on the menu gluten free as well and they use fresh homemade gluten free dough for all their gluten free items. Their gluten free items are the best gluten free pizza and calzones in the capital region. Very good selection of chips and drinks in the store. Very nice people behind the counter too, service is always great. They have a TV in there and the tables are very clean so it is a nice place to eat aswell. Area is not too busy so lots of free street parking when I go. Their deserts are very delicious awsell with their chocolate chip cookies being a perfect treat. Best pizza place in albany in my opinion.

Gluten Free Heaven!! (Non-celiac) Jon makes his gluten free flatbread from scratch for subs and pizza and it is TO DIE FOR. It’s herby, garlicky, savory, and light as air. It’s a homey mom and pop Italian shop with casual seating. Prices are extremely reasonable, my son got a 12” GF pizza for $9. It would be $25 anywhere else. Gluten free cannolis too!!! We will stop here every time we pass through!

This is a very good rustic pizza counter serve restaurant. It primarily serves college students in the neighborhood so temper your expectations accordingly. The food is very reasonable in today’s post-COVID-19 world.
The food while not fine dining is very tasty. The grandma pizza is too thick but it’s tasty and the vegetarian pizza was so flavorful but you need to ask for a bit more sauce on it otherwise it can be slightly dry.
The pesto sauce is vegetarian and the baked ziti was tasty but more like penne pasta in tomato sauce. If they ask you for cheese on the pasta I’d say ‘no’ the next time because it’s just melted mozzarella on the top.
John and his wife are very accommodating simple people that run this restaurant. You will find something you like for sure.

There’s nothing better than an old school family run Italian establishment.
Went here on a random Friday evening. Ordered two subs and had to get a slice while I waited. The atmosphere in this place is awesome, and I loved the sweet lady at the counter taking orders. Subs were great, and if you like thick style pizza then this place is for you. Looking forward to grabbing a pie here soon!

Sovrana’s is the best pizza with great sauce and thick savory crust. It has been a tradition to get a slice even driving through Albany since I used to get it at the end of the night in my college days. It is the same and the family is the same. Great nostalgia. There is a pizza guy online who rates every pizza place and this scores high there too according to the teenager that follows the guy.
