When we stay and Silverton we always ride the alpine loop over to Lake City to eat here. Their chicken fried steak is in the top 3 that I’ve ever had anywhere, and being from Texas I’ve had more than my fair share of CFS

It’s been 26 years since I’ve been back and the anticipation of that gloriously golden fried okra did not disappoint. We sat outside on the patio and the weather could not have been more pleasant. The atmosphere is very family friendly and relaxed and our 4 kids loved it.
The food hadn’t changed one bit. Everything from scratch and so fresh. We started with onion rings and okra and they were wiped clean in minutes. The servings are generous, our family of 6 had plenty of both. The kids got the chicken tenders with fries and gravy and said it was the best they’ve had. The gravy was really good. I split the fried catfish and shrimp plate. Everything was cooked to perfection and I really liked the cocktail sauce because it had a little heat.
It truly is good ol home cooked tasting southern food. Well worth a stop or two!

We were craving burgers and stubble upon this place and the burgers were absolutely delicious! I added cheese and bacon and had chips with my burger! We sat outside and the weather was nice and our waitress was awesome! Definitely should check this place out if you’re in Lake City, CO!!

Service initially was great. Seated, order taken and food served quickly. After that the waitress disappeared. No follow-up, no refills and after waiting for our check for 15 minutes, we gave up and walked up to the counter to pay without a check.
My wife and I both had pulled pork sandwiches, but different sides. Pork as well as the sauce were both very tasty. Oddly though, my wife was very sick for most of the night after eating here. Not really sure if it was the food or not, but seemed likely.

We stopped for lunch on our way through on our SXS’s – we had a group of 14 – the BBQ tacos were SO GOOD. Our waitress did a great job, we had great service all around.

It was a nice place to eat. The pulled pork sandwich was kinda dry and it was 15.00 with a bag a chips. For fries or was an EXTRA 2.00. Booo. It was the end of their season so they were out of some things which is understandable. Husband said the pulled pork tacos were good. I think the added slaw and sour cream is what three pulled pork needed.

The food was delicious. Definitely filled us up. My son and I are out on a guys’ weekend getting away from things and stopped here for dinner while in Lake City, CO. I had the chicken and sausage gumbo and my son had the chicken strips.
