Nice small place to stop for ice cream, friendly staff. Came only for the ice cream which was good but biggest zonk was brownie was microwave which made it dry and tasteless. Only thing that saved some of the brownie was the part that was touching the ice cream. This was the same thing for the apple pie with ice cream. I would highly recommend just ice cream only.

My wife and I were enjoying a stroll on Bay Street on a beautiful Saturday when we decided to stop in for a snack.
What a great experience! The smallest sundaes were not what I would call small by any means. I can only imagine what the large ones must be like if the small ones are this generous.
The staff were incredibly friendly and engaging, making it clear that they valued our business and genuinely enjoyed helping their customers.
I’m sure we will stop by again the next time we’re in the area.

Were vacationing in Beaufort and were craving something sweet and settled on ice cream. After a Google search we picked Southern Sweets at random and we will be forever grateful we did! This little gem is tucked away inside an old building that is full of adorable little shops. Walking up to it you feel like you’re traveling back in time to easier days. Walking inside and seeing the counter with the high stools completes your travel back in time. Our party had 4 different sundaes and a cone and we were all very pleased. Add to that the exceptional customer service and this is a place that is now definitely on our visit often list.

Wife and I stopped by on a recent Saturday and would love to have enjoyed a treat once we sat down at the counter. But once the two girls were free, one went to her phone to text and the other took another customer though we’d been waiting five minutes or so. Once I saw the young lady head to the phone instead of a waiting on us, I figured we getting the “cold” shoulder and left for Kilwins. Ladies, spend less time on your phone and more time working. Considering past reviews, obviously more training is needed for these kids.

5 stars for effort! They were one of a few eateries on Bay Street that were open on Memorial Day and they were feeling the pressure. But the staff all kept their cool and worked extra hard and were still very polite and friendly to all their patrons. We got the Southern Nights hot dog and the Big Chill chili dog. Both were very good. The dogs themselves were quite good with a nice ‘snap’. And for dessert we had a delicious chocolate malt.

Stopped in for a quick lunch while out running errands. I’ve seen this little shop for years, but I had never tried it. Boy…..was I missing out!!! The sweet young lady at the counter recommended the Southern Flair with Turkey, bacon, and house made pimento cheese. It was topped with fresh tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, and mustard on a kaiser roll.
It was definitely a HIT!!
