Baby let me tell ya…the LORD has blessed them hands. Every last one of them; it was late and I realized I hadn’t eaten yet so I typed food in Google and they popped up. I’ve been here an entire year and never knew this place existed but I’m glad I do now. The fish barely made it out the parking lot. The prices are just as good as the food. I darn near cried when I tasted them yams!

I had the southern fried chicken sandwich(crispy) with crinkle fries. Let me tell you this when I bit into my sandwich I fell in love and their sauce on the sandwich compliments the crispy fillet. My friend had the rib tips and his eyes got real bad he couldn’t believe it was that amazing. That was our lunch and we’re having it for dinner tonight.

Food used to be great now below average, they don’t put heart into their food. It’s simple cafeteria good . Wings good, burgers always good, hot dogs good but sometimes old. All the sides are plain. This place is unreal nearly $20 for a dinner plate and this is what these sorry people sell after wait 15 min for someone to even take the order then another 25 mins for the food and this is what happens. They put the sides of cabbage and Macaroni and cheese in a sauce container who does that. Poor customer service is an understatement when a worker notified the people in the back that there were customers waiting to order they replied we know and everyone heard them. I will never return to this place again and I encourage anyone to save their hard earned money for a place with better service and food. I should have know better when I saw the staff to turn away but I was pressed for time in a city I’m unfamiliar with! If this is what Newport News has to offer then NO THANKS I didn’t eat the food as this just happened today it’s in the back seat heading to trash after one taste

I love to support black business. But black business needs to also meet us half way. The food wasn’t terrible tasting at all but i could obviously tell my food wasn’t microwaved and cooked on a previous day. I get it why some restaurants do that and I normally don’t have an issue with the practice but at a $25 price point I want and expect fresh not reheated.

food is the worst do not buy ordered hamburger steak and gravy and macaroni and cheese, macaroni and cheese taste like It been reheated in the microwave all burnt up from the microwave radiation then the hamburger steak and gravy has no seasoning at all whatsoever not a lick of salt, burnt taste, gravy taste like they got it from under the sink And they gave me a yellow rice. Got the 6 piece wing with the honey old bay sauce on the side and yellow rice for $15, the chicken was fried well but lacked seasoning on the chicken itself but with the sauce definitely did justice and the yellow rice could use some seasoning kinda bland other then that would try again without rice!

I’ve patronized a few times. The food is just ok, the best has been the pound cake honestly. The meatballs and rice seemed old, the fried wings were not well seasoned and small in size for the price. The fish on the fish sandwich was a small portion and again lacked seasoning. I want to support small businesses, but overpaying for food or services is not my thing.

I was excited when I walked in the decor was nice however there was a slight smell and customer service was lacking because you don’t see anyone when you instantly walk in it’s like they’re behind a tinted glass there is no welcome or hello when you come in so that was kind of sad. I ordered the wings and waffle combo along with a slice of pound cake
My wings had burn marks and were slightly undercooked which I didn’t understand that because of the burn marks but they look like they had sat on something hot, the waffle was decent that’s the only thing that I ate completely and the pound cake was a disappointment I took one bite and toss the rest of it in the trash. Maybe they were having a bad day and I might give them one more try but right now it’s a no for me.

Overall a good experience. The pork chops I had were Simply AMAZING ‼️ The Mac& cheese was flavorable but wasn’t my favorite. I am picky about my Mac& cheese WOWING ME. I also had the yellow rice again just ok, but very eatable. The menu is so big that I will go back and try more options. I haven’t given up on them yet.
