After ordering from here thru Doordash I would never order or come here again. My food arrived fine, however the driver said the restaurant wasn’t ready. Unfortunately my food looked and tastied nasty. The cabbage looked old and nasty. The mac and cheese looked like box with barely any cheese. The sweet potatoes/ yams just look a mess I don’t even know what it is honestly, it look like they warmed them up or something. My fish was the only thing eatable after spending $18. I don’t know what type of southern cooking this is, but this is not it! I’m from the south born and raised.

Had been at an event all day and just had sandwiches. Really needed some home cooking. We found this place on Google Maps and drove right to it. EXCELLENT choice. I had the brisket plate, corn on the cob, and pinto beans. Oh my! Made me feel like I was back on my Grandma’s and Grandpa’s farm. My wife had the fries shrimp plate, fried corn, mashed potatoes. She loved it! Met the owner and the cook. Our server was excellent, and very friendly. Felt like we were home. Heartily recommend you try this place!

I’ve ordered here 3 years ago and food was great. I just walked in hoping to place a pick up order since I could only order two days out and I assumed they were busy. Nobody was there. Literally nobody was there. Just some guy sitting at the bar, not sure if he was waiting on food or drinks or what because he had nothing. I’m not sure if there is another entrance but even the inside doesn’t look well kept like it does in the pictures here. Not sure if they hot boxed the place last night or what because that wasn’t a the cook is smoking in the back type smell. Which I would’ve been ok with honestly as long as the food and service was good but I had neither.

I love that they prepared the food while we waited. The staff is great. It great laid back vibe for real grown folks. Music is fantastic. The owners are out of Mississippi. Great Southern Soul Food. What I did not like was the counter tops were not wiped down and quite sticky.

This place is great! Food taste authentic, service is nice, it’s just the price they are kinda on the more pricey end. The atmosphere definitely deserves it, but I’m from Miami… I can get the same great food from the corner store for less than half the price. Plus they added a mandatory 20% gratuity to our 5 person party.

I love to support Black Owned establishments. Especially close to home! I was looking for a good line dancing class. I’ve been trying to learn that Tamia Can’t Get Enough line dance for…since it’s been out! ♀️ I just can’t quite get right!! Anywho, my friend, DeMeria said she teaches a class on Wednesday nights at Southern Style Lounge and Bistro. I had forgotten about that place! It’s tucked away in a little strip mall. Long story short, I went last Wednesday night and had a great time. The vibe was warm and welcoming, especially for beginners ( ♀️). I didn’t order food, but they say everything on the menu is good. I’m going to try the fried broccoli the next time I go, because…that just sounds yummy. Anyway, check out this place! I think they have karaoke on Friday nights. I will be going soon!

The 1st thing I’ll say is that this place had 0 atmosphere & there was little customer service (just 3 guys sitting at the bar, seemed a little shady, actually), but I saw the food reviews were so good I gave it a chance.
I got the dark chicken with 2 sides (I got collards & sweet potatoes) then I added mac & cheese, I ended up getting a strawberry cupcake too. The plate with the sides was $14, which I thought was so reasonable, for the amount of food I got. Everything was so delicious… I don’t know if they smoke the chicken, but it was fall off the bone. The collards were perfectly cooked, the yams were really sweet & the mac & cheese was very super yummy! Everything felt like it was enough that I had a meal for later. I’m glad I gave this place a try & I will go back!
