The food is delicious! The restaurant is decorated very nicely! The cashier who helped us was very nice and helpful. I’m glad that we were told to state how much we want to spend before ordering since the plate’s weight determines the cost. My Mom and I will be back. It’s great to have another great dining option in my neighborhood!

Who would’ve thought I’d find authentic Southern cooking tucked away in Omaha, Nebraska? Southern Spoon is truly a hidden gem—one of those places you hesitate to tell too many people about because you selfishly want to keep it all to yourself.
I ordered the fried catfish—fried hard, just how I like it—and it was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The collard greens were tender and seasoned like home, the mac and cheese was creamy with a golden top, and the sweet potatoes were rich and just sweet enough. I finished it off with a smooth, chocolate mousse pie that was the perfect ending.
The restaurant has a warm, inviting vibe, and the food? Simply soul-satisfying. If you’re craving comfort food done right, Southern Spoon delivers.
A little pricey, but worth every bite.

We were visiting from out of town and wanted a soul food dinner. We weren’t familiar with the area or the parking and nothing was clearly marked. Once inside the hospitality was present. There was a guy working at the front who let us sample the chicken wings. They were delicious and the food smelled good. However, there were no prices posted anywhere. My spouse asked the owner and he says he weighs the items for pricing and rambled off chicken, pork chops and fish cost this by the pound. We’re assuming he’s speaking of meat options only, but he weighs your entire meal based on the weight of whatever meat you choose. Confusing right…and also overcharging folks in the process (my opinion). I didn’t see any reviews that spoke of price before going so use this review as a guide. The food was tasty, however, beware of the pricing before ordering. And no, we won’t go back if visiting Nebraska again.

The food here was absolutely delicious. The catfish was fantastic! All the food was great, really. Everything about the place was great! But… some people are going to find the prices a little high. I had the money to spend, but many people these days are on a budget. My recommendation is to go to Southern Spoon on a day where you’re wanting to spend that few extra bucks, just like you would at a fine dining establishment. To me, it was worth the cost. You just needed to know that before you went.

Everything is AMAZING!!! Food, services, and the vibe! Frankie Beverly and Maze were playing on the system, the food smelled great and tasted even better! Don’t make me move to Omaha just for this food!!
If you haven’t tried Southern Spoon, you’re missing out and I know good soul food! I promise you won’t be disappointed…even my kids cleaned their plates and still wanted more

I am someone who was born and raised in the south so I know “southern” cooking and this ain’t it. This place serves southern dishes but it’s not southern cooking. I ordered the fried pork chops with yams and collard greens. Gumbo and cornbread with an order of wings. The pork chops were hot/fresh and the yams were sweet. Nothing else had a taste. I was shocked that the gumbo had NO SEASONING!! Literally no taste at all! I trashed it! Money wasted!
No issues with the service or price ⭐️⭐️⭐️ We can pay for what we want!

The atmosphere was great. Customer service was really welcoming, I was even able to try the garlic parm wings which were amazing but what I paid for was disappointing. I bought collard greens and mashed potatoes. I was really looking forward to the greens but they were very bland and the mashed potatoes were instant mash….

Authentic Southern Food. Top notch crew working. Answered any questions, let me sample their fried chicken which was delightful. I purchased fried catfish and salmon croquet.
Also the way the establishment was decorated was fabulous.
