Billy’s is everything you want it to be. He is from the southeast and his food tastes like it. He runs the place solo to keep giving the area good Southern food as he recognizes it’s lacking in the Springs.
He feels like family immediately, is a Veteran, and makes exceptional/authentic food. Because it’s authentic it takes 20-25 minutes for him to make, so call ahead as he doesn’t have a dining room anymore.
We got 4 meals with a good variety of sides that were all great, you can tell as cheesey as it sounds that he puts love into the food. Down to the little details like having the right hot sauce, folding the wings before he fries them, collards and mac that are straight out of South Carolina. Billy is the real deal, and one of the friendliest restaurateurs I have ever met, pay him a visit, get some authentic Southern love on a plate. I’ll be returning soon for sure, thanks Billy.

The owner is the one cooking. The man was very friendly and informative. The amount of spices they have in their kitchen tells you the food is going to be bomb. I got the fried catfish meal with shrimp for $22, which included baked beans and coleslaw. It came with 2 or 3 hush puppies, 4 or 5 shrimp, and the biggest filet of catfish, which was thick too.
The cocktail sauce was in-house made, and the tartar sauce was also in-house made. The tartar sauce and cocktail sauce portions were small. It was okay for the shrimp since there were only four or five of them. As for the catfish, I should have gotten two sides of tartar sauce. The baked beans were good; I’d rate them 7 out of 10. The coleslaw was 10 out of 10, the best coleslaw I’ve ever had. Catfish was 9 out of 10, and shrimp was 7.9 out of 10.
My wife got the tilapia sandwich. She got mac and cheese as a side and black-eyed peas. The mac and cheese could use a little work, but the black-eyed peas were on point.
Both healthy portions.

We had a last minute cancellation of another restaurant for catering and Billy helped us not only last minute, but provided delicious and comforting food for a party of 35 people. The service was amazing and the catering cost was affordable for the quality of food we received. Everyone at the event thoroughly enjoyed what was provided.

One man whipping up delicious soul food. I got the fried chicken with okra, potato salad, and cornbread. Everything was amazing. If more people start going here I would expect a line out the door and this man selling out of food everyday. Would give it 6 stars if I could. Just went here on a whim today because it was near to where I was working and now I’ll be driving across town to get this as I know I’ll be craving it. Take out only.

What an AMAZING place this is. The owner is AMAZING, knows his stuff, and is an AMAZING cook. I lived in the South for 54 years, so I know what good Southern food is, and this is the BEST Southern cooking I have found in Colorado in the 15 years we have been here. You GOTTA try it and you gotta meet the owner, Billy. A truly amazing person with an amazing story.

Ever since Mayo’s closed down. Didn’t know if there was another decent soul food place around here. Came across this place. The owner was by himself pushing orders out and taking em outside. Dedication. Was hoping the food would be good and it was slap! Thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely go back here.

I’m usually disappointed when I try out restaurants like this here. Just restaurants in general lately are having a tough time keeping the quality of their food. I had the fried catfish, red beans and rice, Mac n cheese, and banana pudding. It was all to die for. The outside of the catfish was crispy and the inside was flaky perfection. Some of the best catfish I’ve had…. anywhere.. not just Colorado. The hush puppies were on point and so we’re the sides. I asked for hot sauce, but I didn’t need it.. everything was seasoned perfectly. Not spicy, but with a good amount of savory spice. The nana pudding was so damn good too! I tried to save some for my husband…but it didn’t happen! I will definitely be back. Bringing my family in tow!
