Southern Grist is amazing! The food at Southern Grist completely exceeded my expectations. Their burgers are phenomenal. The Grist Burger is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! The truffle and parmesan fries are amazing as well. We’ve been multiple times and have had a great experience every time. The staff members are friendly and helpful with the menu. There are lots of seating options, and it’s never been overly crowded when we’ve gone. It’s a great go-to spot to hang out with friends. I highly recommend Southern Grist and can’t wait to visit again soon!

This is my favorite brewery in east. The food is AMAZING, the beer and service are also top notch. The BLT is the best in Nashville. This place is incredibly clean, and the bartenders are beyond kind. I recommend as an east Nashville local! Cheers

My Boyfriend and I came here with high hopes. I ordered the Caesar fries thinking it would be a Caesar salad with a few fries as a crouton substitute. I was sorely mistaken and very disappointed. The bar tender also did not describe it accurately. I asked about it and his description did not match the meal at all. It was a massive tray of fries with some lettuce DRENCHED in sauce. It was very unappetizing. I didn’t want to be “that” customer and send my food back. So I wasted $14 and didn’t eat lunch…
My boyfriend got the Gritz burger and he was also disappointed. It was ALSO DRENCHED in aioli and sauce. The bun was soaking and it was extremely messy, salty, and unappetizing to him as well. This food was so expensive for the level of dissatisfaction. We waisted money and are still hungry. He took Tums for the amount of grease. I’d recommend this place for drinks but not food. We both agreed this restaurant has “sauce blindness.”
Will not be eating there again.
If I am in the area, I’d go for a drink.

Wyatt was our bartender and he was great! All of the bartenders checked in on us. We ordered the Americana and got a side of their house made pickles and grilled onions. The burger was freshly made and came quickly. It literally melted in my mouth! We ordered Apricot Keep About Your Wits and, Black Currant Boysenberry Hill, Black Currant Mango Hill, and the Key Lime Pie Sour Ale. They have a beer for everyone. I love that they offer 5oz drafts. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cool environment and a variety of beer options!

Great find!!! Was in town for an event, and got to the venue way too early. Decided to stop for an early dinner. So glad we stopped.
Some really great brews. Love that you can mix and match your flights. Burger was phenomenal. Mostly shared plate menu. The cannoli dessert, deconstructed, is amazing.

Found this cool brewery on my way into Nashville and decided to stop. So glad that I did. It was nearing closing time, but the bartender was absolutely welcoming and super friendly. She made awesome suggestions for me to try from their menu and I ended up buying two four packs before I left lol. The other really cool thing about this place is that she recommended a couple of other breweries to me in Nashville that I hadn’t heard of on my own by doing Google searches. I thought that was super cool of her. I wish I had gotten in there earlier because some of the food I saw in the tables looked absolutely delicious. If you’re heading into Nashville, make sure you check this place out.

My friends and I came to Southern Grist after a day at the spa across the street. We absolutely loved the Ceasar fries and burgers. Our food came out fast and fresh. Our drinks were great and we tried many of the beers. My only complaint is that the bartenders seemed to be bothered by a large group coming in. We came to the bar to order drinks every time and I felt like i was interupting them. Overall, would recommend!

Loved my experience at this brewery! They have a really nice vibe for date night or hangout with friends or chill with your girl-gang. The staff is extremely friendly, he suggested so many beers I should try and they all were great. Beers were tasty, for someone who’s not an avid beer drinker.
They have parking at this location, and that’s one of the reasons why i always prefer east Nash locations of businesses, because I don’t have to worry about finding parking.
The kitchen was closed when I went there. So I can’t review food items. But on my next visit, I’m definitely planning on grabbing a bite to eat.
The outdoor area is gorgeous and welcoming. This place is so cute, I can’t wait to go back again!
