Tonight, our family decided to give Southern Classic Chicken a try, as it’s a fairly new spot in our area, and we’d heard some good things about it. The menu is pretty straightforward, offering chicken, chicken strips, fries, and a selection of drinks. We decided on the 5-piece chicken strips with fries and lemonade, along with two kids’ combos.
The Positives:
• The pricing was fair, which is always a plus when dining out.
• The service was friendly and efficient—no complaints there!
• The fries were a standout. They were seasoned well and crispy.
• Each combo came with a dinner roll, which was decent, though nothing to write home about.
The Not-So-Great:
• The chicken strips were on the smaller side. I was expecting a bit more for the price.
• The classic sauce was reminiscent of a sauce from another popular fast food chain in the area, so it didn’t feel unique.
While the meal was decent overall, it didn’t leave us craving more. We’d definitely go back if we were in the mood for something simple, but it’s not a place we’d necessarily go out of our way to visit. Would I eat there again? Sure. Would I crave it? Probably not.

My very first time trying this place out and it didn’t disappoint at all. The rice was cooked just right & the red beans was seasoned just right. The fries was well seasoned & hott. As for the chicken definitely seasoned well throughout the skin & meat of the chicken & not greasy at all. The skin was crispy & crunchy. The meat was very tender. Definitely be going back.

The walk up be 10 times faster than being in the line. I have went two times down here in Lafayette, Louisiana and the food is amazing!!! Is a little more of salt, but they have a little spice to it. The red beans taste good to say I’m not a red bean person.
My kids, Tremendously love it. I just have a problem with How long it take to get your order and drive-through and I misunderstanding at the walk up window whenever the person I ask you if you want something you say yes and they don’t give it. Overall, It is a great place to eat From..

Grabbed lunch in the drive through right around 11. We definitely received fast and friendly service!! The tenders were good, the fried chicken was phenomenal. We tried the fries which are well seasoned and tasty. We also liked the red beans but felt they could use more salt and heat. The Cajun rice was definitely different, but surprisingly pretty good. Smells and taste like there is sage in it so it reads more like thanksgiving dressing in my opinion. It was seasoned well. The corn grits were good, I thought they could use a little salt. Overall, pretty tasty and got the order correct so that’s already better than others in town. We will be back

My family picks up chicken here about twice a month. All of the chicken is delicious, seasoned perfectly, and freshly made. I love the jalapeño peppers and their fries are top notch. Surprisingly, the prices are good too!

Boy, was I wrong!!!! It was freaking nuts how busy this place was today! I wanted to try it, so I was willing to tackle the crowd. I got the 2+2 meal, which features two pieces of chicken, dark, mixed, or white, two sides, and a roll. For my sides, I got the mashed potatoes with gravy and the sweet corn grits. First off, the chicken was delish, fresh, hot, and crispy. It kinda reminded me of the bone in fried chicken that came in the Swanson tv dinners from back in the day… It was the one with mashed potatoes, corn, and a brownie. I don’t even know if they still have those today, but they were the best! The mashed potatoes with gravy were really good, and the sweet corn grits were amazing!! Also, they came in decent size containers for the regular size! My only small, tiny, itty bitty, wittle gripe is, I wish you could dine in as well, but due to them expanding, this formula seems to be working well for them. One more thing…
I know they are building a few locations in BR, but it would be nice to consider a location in Gonzales!! I think it would do very well here, just saying!

I visit this store once a week. The chicken is always fresh to order. 5 piece dark for 9.99 is a great price and I always get the delicious red beans as a side. The pepper on the side is another good add on. The chicken is very good & crispy. One of my favorites.

Overpriced for this food. $54.00 for a 12 piece with sides is utterly outrageous. Rice dressing so spicy we couldn’t eat it. Best fried chicken is Church’s for the money. Will not go back and will not recommend.
