The restaurant itself is a great chill spot IT HAS A BAR AND POOL TABLES and it’s next to a lot of other good places to hang out, you can play pool and grab something to eat while you do your laundry (there’s a laundromat walking distance away). You can also grab something to drink while you wait for your friends to show up to go bowling, just across the street there’s a small bowling alley, the chicken large sized WINGS are very crispy but juicy they have LARGE size wings not those little skimpy ones, the french FRIES are also very crispy but NOT dry, the PIZZA is pretty good I loved the taste of every part of it, the SAUCE, the CRUST, the CHEESE & the SALAD I got for my uncle looked VERY GOOD! The CHICKEN on the CAESAR salad looked very CRISPY JUICY and FRESH and so does the LETTUCE itself the CROUTONS are perfectly crunchy!!! No car? Don’t worry it’s on the bus line you can get to SOUTH WHITNEY PIZZA AND BAR from anywhere in Harford county. GO TRY IT YOURSELF!

Ordered about 1000 steak and cheese grinders from them over the past 10 years. I never asked for a free grinder or a discount and they never gave one. No issue there, but last night they got my order wrong and I had to come back for them to make me a new one.
The cashier didn’t let me keep the first grinder and accused me of blackmail for demanding a $2 gesture of good will to a long time customer. About time to stop eating this stuff anyways. It ain’t good for ya.

The food was terrible!!! The wings were very crispy and hard. They had no flavor and they were extremely dry. The dipping sauce wasn’t dipping sauce at all. The dipping sauce was more like paste. The wings taste like cardboard. Seemed like they had been sitting somewhere for several hours. The garlic bread was soggy. My wife’s grinder wasn’t much better. Avoid this pizza shop. I will never order from this place again.

This pizza place is truly amazing! The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and every detail is thoughtfully prepared. The pizzas are delicious — the ingredients are fresh and the flavor is incredible. In the evenings, the place comes alive with great music, fun, and a wonderful vibe that makes everyone feel happy. I always experience the same high quality and friendly energy every time I visit. Congratulations to the owner and the team — your hospitality and positive spirit truly stand out. I’m proud of you and your amazing place! ✨

First time trying this restaurant, last time trying this restaurant. We picked up a cheese pizza, a buffalo chicken supreme, and a Margarita. The Margarita pizza tasted like it was made a week ago. Barely any cheese and hard as a rock. Our Buffalo Supreme was supposed to come with buffalo chicken, onions, and jalapeños. It had no vegetables whatsoever. The cheese pizza was ok, according to our kids. I called the restaurant to complain and was told the Margarita pizza doesn’t have cheese. That’s not how they should come. It should have slices of fresh mozzarella scattered all over it! The woman I spoke with told me to bring the pizzas back (a 25 minute round trip) and we could have a couple fresh ones made. I declined because we already ate other food and it was getting late. I asked to have money refunded and was told “no refunds”. I said no problem, I just won’t be back. I can’t wait till Park Lane Pizza opens.

Back in the mid-80s we used to go bowling at the duck pen on Farmington Avenue and then run across the street to South Whitney pizza and grinder the place was awesome. I recently stepped in and immediately felt welcomed.
40 years later they now have a bar with music playing and people enjoying drinks and gathering with friends.
On the other side of the partition was some tables and the kitchen where many yummy treats were being cooked. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs with extra parmesan and extra sauce. I don’t know if they kept the same recipe but I was brought all the way back to the good old South Whitney Pizza of old. The food was super hot the service was excellent and the overall feeling was like being home again.
Anyone who comes to this neighborhood in the West end absolutely deserves to stop in to South Whitney pizza and grinder.

Online their pictures make the food look good, but sadly that’s not the case. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but the pizza and moz sticks we ordered tasted like they were from chuckee cheese or something from a middle school pizza party. Me and my party spent 40 dollars on our meal and not a single bite was delightful. I hope this place chooses to replace their photos with actual recent photos of their food so they aren’t tricking the customers into thinking they’ll be getting something much better.
Save yourself the money and get a big-y pizza everybody.
This post is made with love – just looking out for those whose money really means something to them.

This is a cheese pizza with freezer buffalo cubes on it, I just paid about $30 for. Absolute joke, this place used to be good years back. Don’t waste your time or money on this 7/11 serves better pizza
