I love a good diner. And this is just that. Great selection of diner classics in the huge novel of a menu. Early bird specials, daily specials, fresh homemade soups all add up to a great meal. Service was great, very friendly and personable. They have a counter or booths in the cozy clean dining room. The homemade chicken soup was very tasty, as was the tuna melt. I opted for the comfort classic hot open turkey dinner. It came with soup and dessert for less than $20! It was great. Just what I expected and wanted from a diner. Desserts were great as well. The rice pudding was yummy as was the canoli cheesecake.

My husband and I went for breakfast this morning- this is my third time visiting but my husband’s first. We used to live in close proximity of this diner and bypassed it for years, please do yourself a favor and visit! If you are looking for good breakfast, they have the best food in the area, hands down. Do not let the look of this diner fool you, it is small and easy to overlook. However, everything down to the coffee is phenomenal.

The food was presented perfectly and tasted delicious the place clean and nice also they have a lot of food options. If your a picky eater like my self you will find something to eat. The service was great it took a little while to get the deserts and food but I think that was because they were busy. Otherwise the place was great I will go back there. Also I will add some photos at the end.(also the milkshake was delicious too)

A great local diner. Well cooked food, less seasoned mostly due to an older clientele. However for breakfast it’s very satisfying. Everything you need for takeout is in the bag like utensils napkins butter and syrup. Which I like since places hardly try to offer everything you need to eat. Decent portions.

Clean place, comfy environment, absolutely friendly staff. The food was top notch and very price friendly. Miss Carol was our server and was very friendly and professional. The selection of different cakes would make anybody’s sweet tooth scream for more. There’s plenty of parking for easy access and very clean bathrooms. I would love to stop back again sometime in the near future and enjoy another scrumptious breakfast served by the best server this side of the Mississippi Miss Carol. Thanks South Star diner for the hospitality and delicious food.

This was a first time for me and my hubby to try here & We were both very impressed with everything. He ordered breakfast for dinner, 3 eggs over easy with sausage. and I had the Jack Daniels chopped steak with mashed potatoes, turkey gravy and broccoli. It was the best I’ve had aside from my own. Thank you for a great meal and dining experience. We will be back.

I absolutely love visiting this place after church. The atmosphere is nice. They me feel comfortable by accommodating my disability. It seems everyone already knows where we want to sit. There is a nice variety of items on the menu above the standard diner fare. All around, it is a great place to have a meal. I recommend it. I just wish they could do something about the delivery service with Uber Eats. It’s a mess.
