My first visit to South One Eatery was such a pleasant experience overall. From the moment we walked in, the service stood out. The young lady who assisted us (she had very short hair, and I wish I had gotten her name) provided truly exceptional service. She took her time breaking down the menu for us, explained how their daily specials work (which consistently change), and made sure we felt comfortable with our choices. You can tell when someone genuinely cares about the customer experience, and she absolutely did.
The location is also a huge plus — it’s very close to home, which makes it convenient and easy to visit again. Another thing I really appreciate is that the food is made fresh. I don’t mind waiting a little longer when I know my meal isn’t sitting under a warmer. Fresh food makes all the difference, and you can taste it.
Everything we ordered was very affordable and well within budget, which makes it even more appealing for repeat visits. I ordered the lemon pepper wings, and while they were cooked perfectly — great crunch, great texture, and overall great flavor — they tasted more like the original flavor rather than lemon pepper. Since lemon pepper costs an additional $1.50 for the sauce, I was hoping for a more noticeable seasoning profile. That’s honestly the only reason for my four-star rating. The wings themselves were still delicious — just not quite the lemon pepper flavor I expected.
For drinks, we ordered the homemade iced tea and fruit punch, and I highly recommend both. They weren’t overly sweet, which I really appreciated. The sweetness level was just right — enjoyable without being overpowering. I was even able to dilute mine slightly to stretch it to my preference without losing the flavor.
Now let’s talk about dessert — absolutely delicious. We ordered their special pound cake and cheesecake topped with strawberry drizzle, and both were amazing. Moist, flavorful, and the perfect sweet ending to the meal. I would definitely order them again without hesitation.
Overall, South One Eatery delivered fresh, affordable food with outstanding service. Aside from the lemon pepper seasoning mix-up, everything was great — the taste, the crunch, the freshness, and the drinks and desserts. I’m really looking forward to going back to try more menu items and exploring those rotating daily specials.

I got the #8 (3 wings and a cheeseburger) and it was fire ! The wings were crispy and seasoned just right, and the burger was juicy and full of flavor. Everything came out fresh and hot. The service was friendly too — you can tell they care about the food and the people. Definitely my new favorite spot in Tallahassee!

Fresh cooked to order and seasoned scrumptious meals. The homemade fruit punch will wake your taste buds up like the 4th of July. The owners carefully create and serve each plate with love. Been eating here for 4 years. I make sure to visit every time I’m in town now that I moved. The prices are ridiculously affordable. Thank you for the amazing food that reminds me of grandma’s home. potato salad is great as well.

South One Eatery is my go to food for fried chicken and fried fish. I love their fish and chicken fried crispy and just right. I have been going for a year now and live the Owners, they both are so nice and friendly. The food is delicious and made to order!!! ALWAYS fresh and hot and seasoned just right!!! Look out A Town, and the prices are affordable, the restaurant is ALWAYS nice and clean and the bathroom as well .
I thank God I found this place a guy at the Piggly Wiggly told me to go there and get the fried chicken special in opposed to buying the chicken at the Piggly Wiggly. South One Eatery is very good and you will not be disappointed.
