Fish Mongers now at South Jetty in Hammond. Same great fish and chips as before, but in a sit down location. Best fish and chips in the Astoria area. We’ve always gone out of our way for the old location just down the street, and will do the same here.
Oh…and the shrimp basket is incredible…with 12 good size shrimp, it’s more than a meal.

For Fish Mongers: Congrats Ed! The food is just a si remember from the original location! I do hope at some point you add outdoor seating for summer time at least! Im not a bar guy…sober 26 years, but I love your fish!!

We visited Fish Mongers original location many many times a year especially if we were camping at ft Stevens Drove over to check out their new location and make sure the quality was as good The price had increased slightly which was no problem for us No free drink anymore if u pay cash but that was ok also Hubby ordered cod fish and chips Fish breading was pretty greasy And pieces were smaller but meat tasted fresh I ordered the shrimp dinner Again not the batter/awesome breading as before shrimp meat was good though I love their coleslaw but mine tasted a little fishy for some reason We arent going to give up though since for years we have had amazing seafood from Fish Mongers Our waitress was amazing especially since she was the only waitress that day nice seating area for family with the bar in another room Hope these comments are helpful and not hurtful

2025 UPDATE: Karaoke Fri/Sat, come on down!
This first visit of the season, got the Reuben. Pretty good, met my expectations. Fries were on the blond side, could’ve used a bit more time in the fryer or maybe hotter oil. I don’t think they were seasoned. Generous amount. Maybe look into getting something like johnnys / red robin seasoning.
For my next visit, would be curious to try their prime rib fri/sat special to compare against buoy 9 across the street.

The bartenders are friendly and make fantastic cocktails.
The food is amazing. They have fantastic cooks on staff.
They are making nearly everything on the menu from scratch. Even the soups!
The plating/presentation is gorgeous.
I got a 1/2 Cobb Salad for only $6, a couple of days ago, and it was fantastic! It was much larger than I had expected.
The french dip is cut from their Prime Rib dinner specials and is delicious.
The prices are very reasonable for the high quality of food you receive.

Great place. We came on a Saturday night. We enjoyed the karaoke, pool, and video poker. The bartenders were quick and friendly. There was plenty of parking available. Felt very welcomed.

My family and I went here to eat dinner while we were on vacation. It was late and we were the only ones in the restaurant section. We weren’t sure what to expect when we pulled up, but we’re pleasantly surprised! The staff was super friendly and courteous. The food was fantastic! I wish I had taken pics of the food when we got it to post for this review, but we ate it too quickly. Haha There we’re awesome kid friendly options, too!
The bathrooms were super clean, which is always very important.
We are going to try to make an annual trip to the area and this will definitely be a regular stop for us from now on. Yes, I would highly recommend stopping here for lunch and dinner. Thanks so much, y’all!
