I had the meat lovers burrito, my wife had the chocolate chip pancakes. Both were great. The prices were very reasonable. A house coffee came with its own carafe, no waiting on refills.
10/10. We will be back!
I got the chilaquiles and they were sweet I thought they were supposed to be a lil spicy ️
My Mexican mocha was good with non dairy options available. Place was clean but really loud!
Give them a try maybe other items in the menu will be better than my chilaquiles!
not great, don’t recommend, won’t be back (should have gone to happy cow a block away for their breakfast bowl with sweet potato fries, or hideaway , but i wanted to give this place a chance)
I give 2 out of 5 for many reasons.
1st, the bad : I ordered huevos rancheros with over easy eggs. I eat eggs EVERY day & almost always over easy …& I’ve been around almost 6decades… I know how they’re cooked; I usually cook them. I’ve also ordered them at a LOT of restaurants in the many decades have been alive.
When I cut into my egg, just the white part, a gush of clear uncooked runny whites
ran out; a LOT of the egg white was raw and uncooked
The other one had only slightly uncooked whites, which I would not have said anything about.
but the uncooked one was really potentially dangerous , especially as they are using cheap conventional eggs -which have a higher risk of salmonella
my main criticism is :
when I brought this up to the man working there, he told me that’s how they make their over easy eggs.
after telling me “that’s just sour cream”
He did not see the uncooked clear runny white run out & fall to the bottom under the tortilla
He just automatically told me that I was wrong & mansplained to me how over easy eggs are meant to be. as I said I’m an older person who has over easy eggs almost every day. I’ve even worked at brunch restaurants
I know, apparently more than this guy, how over easy eggs are made & meant to be.
if they really leave the white THAT runny/raw then…
Well if you get sick it’s probably that … also they would be shut down by a health inspector.
when a customer tries to tell you it’s that bad, don’t give them excuses or reasons & assume that they’re just wrong,
LISTEN to them. (this guy didn’t even look very closely, & like I mentioned he didn’t see the liquid that ran off underneath)
So after the guy argued with me & gaslit & mansplained to me , he did agree to take them back & make me a new dish.
It was embarrassing & annoying, I probably should’ve left… In case the kitchen was also pissed & spit in my food or something
I stayed, hoping that they wouldn’t dare
The other criticisms I have are: there was very little flavour on this huevos rancheros. there were big chunks of canned tomato that just tasted like plain stewed tomatoes from a can on top & black beans which also tasted plain & like they were just from a can with no spices.
They did give me a green salsa they make which was very good & added flavor.
I ordered a side of chorizo to add more flavour & protein & it was bland, not spicy or all like I have ever tasted chorizo before; which I buy it quite regularly & love it usually.
It was very greasy & they charged almost 6 bucks for a side of chorizo
The last criticism i have is that they charge too much for cheap diner coffee.
I understand the efficiency of bringing people a whole pot of coffee. you don’t have to go back & give them fresh coffee a bunch , …check on them .
but I don’t drink very much coffee & I want fresh coffee only.
if you bring me a whole pot, in 20 minutes when I’m ready for another cup I don’t want this 30 minute old coffee from the pot that you put on my table.
I would prefer if I got the pot you just made because you served everyone else & it’s fresh cuz u had to make more.
I assume the almost $4 for a cup of coffee that is subpar is charged because of this seeming generosity of giving them a whole pot.
Maybe you should reserve the whole pot, & the charge for a table of more than 1. or gave a ONE cup option
The good about the restaurant : the servers were very attentive.a little too attentive sometimes but overall very good.
The bathroom was pretty clean; the door was sticky tho.
(pic is of second plate with eggs cooked right…if a lil over medium)
o’ the home fries were good
but the menu’s need cleaned…EVERY DAY
