I stopped at the Love’s Truck Stop located at 760 S. Quartzsite Avenue in Quartzsite, Arizona. The long line at one of the restaurants deterred me from eating there, so I decided to give Chester’s Chicken a try. The large piles of fried chicken looked delicious, but fried chicken can be very messy while eating it inside a vehicle, and this place has no seating. There were two chicken sandwiches ready to go, so I ordered one of them. The employee who took my order seemed concerned about how long those chicken sandwiches had been sitting in the warmer and he checked in the back, but apparently, no additional chicken sandwiches would be ready any time in the near future. When he returned to the counter, he removed those two chicken sandwiches from the warmer and took them away. Apparently, they were so old that he refused to sell either of them to me. While I appreciate that employee’s dedication to only selling quality product, it was disappointing thinking I was going to eat what I hoped would be a delicious chicken sandwich and having it taken away right in front of me. I decided that I would return to my road trip without eating. I cannot give Chester’s Chicken a five star review since I have not tried their food. I can’t justify a one star review because the employee refused to sell me food that was old. Averaging the two ends of the scale lands Chester’s Chicken three stars. I appreciate the awareness of the age of those sandwiches, and recommend removing them from the warmer when they reach the point when they no longer meet quality standards.

At 6 pm. on November 10th, there was nothing prepared for the dinner hour.
The mashed potato were left from lunch, no green beans, no corn, no hearts, the Gizzard were dry from the lunch hour, and they only had chicken wing left to sell. One guy named Hank had to sell, cook and put what ever came out of the fryer on the line, he looked like he had not had a break for at least 4 hours, the other lady helping Hank did absolutely nothing. She was no help to the guy named Hank what so ever.
Hank deserves a raise for what he was put through. I got MY order after I waited and watched one whole hour go bye. I WATCHED EVERYONE DO NOTHING TO HELP HANK FOR ONE HOUR.
Hank definitely deserves a raise after what he was put though, he maintained his cool the whole time. My order was a large liver order and a three piece chicken with a side order of mash potatoes. The chicken was good. The mash potatoes were dry and were served in my order from the lunch hour , definitely not fresh.
Please, to the management, give Hank a raise. He deserves it .
He also deserves someone who will help him and will not waste their time.

Don’t eat these chickens. No flavors. Extra oil in them. I used a paper towel to squeeze the oil out an damn. Please, train your employees how to make FRY CHICKEN.

I always stop at this gas station on my way to Arizona. The main reason is to get some fried chicken. It’s not he best I’ve ever had but it is good enough that it has become tradition for the family to stop for Chester’s Chicken. Their mac and cheese is really good.

What a scam! I ordered 2 combo meals, plus a large order of potato wedges. I saw them dishing up the sides, but they never put them in my bag. They also gave us dried out, over-cooked biscuits that no one would eat. Such a rip off!

Ordered a Number 5. Was to receive 4 tenders, wedges & biscuit. Received 3 tenders & a wing.
Worst part was the “tenders”, were dried up and was difficult to tear apart with your hands. Incredibly tough to chew.
This place had steady customers the hour I sat there.. so chicken could not be old.
Also their potato wedges are way to big to be enjoyable at all.
Simply awful & a waste of over $15
Will never buy Chesters Chicken again.
Go anywhere but Chesters…

Chester’s chicken is delicious with big pieces of chicken, the tenders looked large. I would not recommend the gizzards or livers unless fresh, they were very dried out and overcooked.
This Chester’s is inside a very, very busy truck stop with tight parking and long lines.

Whenever I travel back and forth between California and Arizona, I always stop there to get chicken tenders. They’re way bigger than anywhere else. It’s really good chicken. I wish they were more local

I came in with low expectations (gas station food) and the chicken was surprisingly juicy and crunchy. The Mac and Cheese was amazing. The guy who served me was nice and considerate. All around 5 stars.
