We went for the ayce fish & shrimp.
It isn’t very big inside but seemed clean.
Staff was friendly as you walked in you were greeted

The perch and shrimp were amazing. They were not heavily breaded. The perch was nice thick fillets and the shrimp while not huge were very sweet and was de-tailed. The only thing my husband didn’t like was the Cole slaw. He said the perch & shrimp were the best he’s had in a very long time. It came with slaw & fries btw.

The pizza was good but not sure I’d order it again. It was hot, fresh and had a lot of toppings but I wasn’t crazy about the sausage. My personal problem as I’ve heard nothing but good about their pizza.

Our server was very nice and personable. (Marcus)

The only thing I didn’t like was it’s not easily accessible if you are handicapped. There were a lot of steps to go down and to use ground level walk in there was quite a walk down through shops (nothing you’d like to do in winter).

All in all we will go again, park closer to the ground level walk in which is still a little hike if handicapped and not go in the resort season or once it snows/ices – would be tricky for a handicapped person.

Before checking into where we’re staying for the next few nights, we made a quick stop for lunch at South Haven Brewpub, located right along the Black River in charming Old Harbor Village area.

We both ordered the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing, and it did not disappoint – fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced! The place has such a cool, laid-back vibe, and the staff was super friendly!!

Definitely worth checking out 🙂

Upside: it’s attractive from the outside and the pretzels and beer cheese are GREAT!
Downside: it’s too hard to get refills on the AYCE fish which doesn’t really stand up to the name, it isn’t a welcoming environment (you’re just sat down and things tossed at you as the waitstaff makes numerous drops around the room), the poutine fries are weird (tasting like spicy BBQ and gravy, very unappealing and I couldn’t eat because it was too spicy).

I enjoy the food here! They may have the best fries in town. I got the Bourbon Bacon Burger and it was delicious!! For the appetizer we went with the Bang Bang Shrimp which is diveined and delicious. I enjoy their selection of beers as not many places here have heavier beers. They offer good beers and cocktails. Everything you need is already at the table like condiments napkins etc which I think helps a lot. Thursdays they have a nice wing special that I haven’t tried yet but a lot of people enjoy. Parking is on the street but it’s accessible. Service is always quick and the wait is never long during the off season.

All u can fish and shrimp is good.
Not the first time we’ve had a bartender as the waiter but, it’s never a good thing, they’re too busy. Especially when you want some more fish

I chose this place because of the Lobster Roll. I was disappointed. It was served on toasted garlic bread. The bread was so garlicky, it overshadowed the taste of the lobster. The waiter was ok but not friendly. Dogs are allowed on the patio. While we were there, there was a couple with two dogs. Several times the dogs barked and acted aggressive toward people and another dog that was there. It made us very uncomfortable. We think they should have asked them to leave. I used the restroom before we left, leaving a credit card with my husband to pay the bill. There was a sign in the bathroom that said they added an upcharge to used a credit card. Too late for me to get cash from the atm they had there. The inside was dark and not very attractive. We won’t be going g back.

We really enjoyed the pizza at the Brew Pub. They put all the toppings we wanted on the pizza at no extra charge. The atmosphere was very relaxed and our waitress Elene was attentive and welcoming. I would really encourage others to dine here and support our businesses during the off tourist season.

Man, I really wanted to enjoy this place. Being a server I could reason with a lot of things but this was unbelievable. Side work is being done by 5 servers right at the front by the host stand while the poor host is running around bussing tables.

Took 20 minutes to get a table because this girl was bussing each table before she sat someone. When we were sat it was 15 minutes before a server got to the table. Mind you there are 4 tables sat outside. I understand having an inside and outside section can be frustrating and hard.

When the food came out I was shocked. Never have I spent over $20 on something that looked like this. This is the lobster roll. You might be wondering where the lobster is…I was too. I ate a loaf of garlic bread with a dollop of lobster on it. And the tomato’s on the salad -fermented and fizzy. When it popped in my mouth that was it. We asked for the check and left right after. I get having bad days, they happen but to pay a total of $30 after tip for this service and food was comical.

Mediocre food that’s way overpriced. Food took a long time to come out and they got my order wrong. The food was also cold. We went the weekend after Labor Day so it wasn’t busy at all. Our server was friendly but extremely slow. She only came around to take the food/drink order and to deliver the food. Other than that, no refills and no checking in to see if we needed anything else. The men’s restroom was also pretty grimy. Poor management here. There’s too many good places to eat in SoHa to waste your money/time here. I do not recommend.

We ate at South Haven Brewpub twice during our trip and really enjoyed it! Sitting outside was perfect with young kids – it gave them space to move around, and since it wasn’t busy while we were there, it felt relaxed. The restaurant had coloring pages, crayons, and high chairs, which made it very family-friendly. We tried the pizza, perch basket, and lobster roll. The pizza and perch were excellent, while the lobster roll was just okay. Service was quick and attentive both times. A great spot for families looking for good food and a casual atmosphere!
