Specifically, I ordered online from South End Sweets at 11 pm and they gave me a wait time of 45-50 mins. The long wait time wasn’t a problem, it was the rude man working the front counter that doesn’t know a shred of customer service or how to do his job that’s the issue. I showed up 10 mins after when it said it would be ready. The man told me “it’s gonna take a while cause that kitchen gets backed up at this time of night and they have about 5 orders before yours”, even though I received a text saying it was ready. I see him personally come out the door and hand someone else their food saying “yeah ordering with me is actually the fastest way to get your food”, meanwhile there’s people crammed in there waiting for their orders that they placed online. Ok so I go back out to my car and called the number for South End Sweets and that gentleman told me my order was ready and there was confusion at the front counter. My boyfriend goes in to retrieve the order and hears shouting in the back, “the order is packed, it’s RIGHT THERE!!”. My bf shows the receipt and the rude man says that the person that actually ordered has to be present because of security purposes. I’ve came to this place multiple times and that’s never been the case. Ok fine, so I go back in with him and finally get my order. The rude man is trying to overcompensate because he knows he messed up and just because my bf didn’t respond, that man flipped out telling us not to slam the locker and kept shouting stuff as we walked out the door. Rude, unprofessional, and creating longer wait times than necessary because he can’t do his job.
The ease of ordering food is not there along with limited parking and a lack of ability to eat near or at the establishment.
I’ve tried to have a pleasant experience here multiple times, but each time has been a disappointment between the ordering process. Waiting times and the quality of the food all have been low.
One of the other large complaints I have is that there is no one to interact with so when they mess up the order or you need something, there’s no way to get it corrected or fixed.
The cost of the food is quite high, especially considering the low customer service that you get and the low quality of the food that you receive.
An example, I ordered two wraps and my bill was $50.
One of the other things that is aggravating personally is if I want to order from multiple restaurants at the kiosk it doesn’t allow me to do that. I have to make a purchase with one and then start the process over and order the 2nd restaurant and then start the process over in order from the third process.
For example I do this like I want a wrap from restaurant a. But I want a dessert from restaurant b and I want to get side from restaurant c. I can’t do that in one order. I have to make three separate orders from the same kiosk.

Want top dish picks or best times to visit?
The most negative part of this experience is trying to find somewhere to park. If it’s a busy night like when I went, you may have to park down the street a little and walk like I did.
You go to a kiosk machine to place your order. You’ll be able to see each restaurant available, but you’ll only be able to place one order at a time.
My first order was with Queen City Roti Shop. I’m sad to see they’re permanently closed now. I ordered a doubles, caramel flan, and a jupiña. The second order was Soul x Southern Cuisine. I ordered the mac and cheese and the sweet potato soufflé.
I could use more doubles now. I liked the flan. Wasn’t a fan of jupiña; it tasted artificial. Wasn’t a fan of the mac and cheese; it wasn’t better than mine. The soufflé was ok. I’m overdue for another South End Eats visit.
