This was a good place to go with the family. We had a big party in the back they put together the tables and the waitress was very nice. She even moved to one table to make some more room at the end of the tables for my brother, who is a big guy. She was so nice and seemed like she was straight from China, but she was very nice and smiley and caring for all of us! The food is mostly really good. The peanut butter chicken is really good and crab. Rangoon is very good. They have two big pots of white rice and fried rice and they only have little cups of ice cream. They don’t have a ice cream machine. They also have a fresh made plate bar where you can put a couple different sauces and cooking oils, cooking wine and stuff I got on it. The lady who I believe is the owner made the plate for me and she asked which flavor I wanted it to be apparently they have a lot of flavors behind the counter, but I just chose barbecue. I would recommend getting a fresh made hot plate because it is to your liking and you get to choose from meats veggies, and I think it’s two different types of noodles. I prefer the lo mein type of noodle. this was very nice and it’s not too expensive during lunchtime. I believe it’s $13 a person kids are obviously less charged and it is a good place for kids and family. They have plenty of parking. It’s free and most of the people there speak Chinese.

You should be ashamed of this garbage.

Buffet was well maintained & has multiple varieties to satisfy your taste. Cooked & seasoned to perfection. Waitress was busy constantly & kept up with refills & table clearing. I’m always impressed at Chinese Restaurants noticing the spectacular service always received. Unlike other places we’ve gone to where waitresses are busy chatting & complaining. Always using the excuse that “they are understaffed” when it’s obviously not busy at all. We always tip well when dining out, irregardless of service, knowing waiters & waitresses income is dependent on tips. It makes your dining pleasurable knowing when it’s well deserved. Too bad Managers at other Restaurants don’t hire people who actually care about doing their jobs well. Look no further than the parking lots of Restaurants & you’ll have a good idea of the food & service they offer. Our favorite places to dine out are always busy & crowded. I’ve yet to find a Chinese Restaurant where customer service is not above satisfactory.

This place was very clean and well laid out. Plenty of room to move around getting to this buffet. Usually I can pick four or five items on a buffet that I like and the rest is not good, but this buffet everything I tried except one item was something I liked. The boneless pork rib was the only thing I didn’t like.
What totally surprised me and my favorite on the buffet was the fried dumplings. They were fantastic. I even put a couple in the hot and sour soup and turned it into something that was delicious and different.
The General Tso chicken here has a slight spicy aftertaste and not very sweet up front. I enjoy that combo. Usually it’s either too sweet or too hot but this was just right.
All the other items I tried were delicious and I definitely recommend you come here if you’re in the area.

So I was told this is the only Chinese Buffet in Lebanon, PA so I wanted to give it a try. For a while the place was closed due to being burned down from a kitchen fire. They finally opened back up and this is my first time here and will most likely be my LAST time here. I heard that before the closing of the business that the food quality was terrible. I thought maybe with the reopen they with improve the quality of everything; I was completely wrong. The options are little to nothing (they have two rows of hot food items and one row of dessert items). Everything is super salty so you drink more water than you eat food. Seems like everything has just be sitting in the warmers for hours and have completely dried out. They have rice sitting in two big rice cookers that have probably been sitting in there for hours. The atmosphere is obviously outdated. I go on and on but what’s the point? For $14.99 on a Sunday it’s just not worth it. Now, They did bring out fresh food as soon as I emptied one of the food items in a warmer which was good. Although the Mongolian/Hibachi grill was small, it’s your best bet for anything fresh/hot and somewhat tasty. You can check it out for yourself but I promise you will not be satisfied.

I heard about ‘South China Buffet’ from some friends that stopped by about five (5) months ago as they passed thru the area. Today, 12 Aug, 2023, I made a three (3) hour trek to check it out myself … spoiler alert … wasn’t worth the trip, at least today it wasn’t.
The restaurant has some age to it, but seems to be holding it’s own although it could use some work. The exterior signage is weathered and faded while the businesses on each side have newer signage that stands out as you approach. The dining area has definitely seen it’s share of customers over the years. The buffet itself is well laid out and consists of three sections, two (2) hot and one (1) cold. They advertise that they offer “over 80 items” on the buffet and while I didn’t stand and count the exact number of items, I can confidently say it wasn’t eighty! Their lunch buffet is $11.99 (+ tax) & dinner will run you $14.99 (+ tax) per person, drinks not included.
Their General Tso’s Chicken & Crabmeat Bake were probably the two (2) best dishes I tasted today. The General Tso’s Chicken was well balanced, not overly sweet & not too spicy. The Crabmeat Bake was delicious. The Fried Dumplings were good. As for the remainder of the items I sampled, they either were dried out from sitting on the bar too long or being overcooked to start with, or were lacking in flavor. The Teriyaki Chicken was dried out, but had zero flavor! Although the Peanut Butter Chicken sauce had good flavor, the chicken itself was dried out and tough. The Pepper Steak wasn’t even warmed up in the kitchen before being put on the buffet. It’s the first time I’ve ever encountered cold beef on a hot bar. Inexcusable! Coconut Shrimp & Egg Rolls were ok, nothing to write home about. The Fried Wontons were a big disappointment. You find them on just about every Chinese buffet, but the wontons at South China Buffet are woefully subpar to just about every other Chinese buffet I’ve eaten at. While I’m not sure of how many employees were working this afternoon, I only saw three (3) that were doing anything. One (1) was more interested in something on her phone than attending to customers while another was running her tail off. Staff was lacking on attending to customers drink refills this afternoon which cost them one (1) star right off the bat!
I’m probably stretching giving South China Buffet three (3) stars overall, it’s probably more deserving of two (2) stars, but I’m sticking with my initial thoughts on the score. Probably won’t be back, but definitely won’t be driving over three (3) hours to give them a 2nd chance.

Ive been to many Chinese buffets around the east coast. Hands down this is the best food. It is on par or above with Chinese food you would pay for if you ordered a single meal. Everything was fresh and tasty

It was my family and my first time there. Service was very friendly and on point. The atmosphere was not as expected from other locations.Especially , it was more Going to a agent takeout restaurant with a lot more chairs in tables. Then to finish it off. People people were coming in coughing. Coughing, hold over the place while trying to get their food made everything. Uncomfortable.
And no longer wanted Especially that the food protector barrier Was not really too much of a barrier. My wife even found a hair in their chicken and broccoli. Type of food was done what limited. And finally price based on all this stuff was a little overpriced. Sorry just being honest.

First time there today (lunch)
The environment was ambient/peaceful- the lighting was dim and the music that played was low. It was very relaxing
A nice mix of food, It wasn’t overwhelming like larger buffets
All the food I tried was good, the steamed flounder was the best
All of the employees seemed friendly. Host was quick to welcome and take me to a seat
The price was good, especially considering how expensive fast food has gotten! Definitely will go back every now and again

We we’re seated right away which was good. I was disappointed though that there wasn’t to much of a selection. After I filled my first plate up with food I saw a piece of dried napkin stuck to the plate. (The plate and the napkin were both white) The table was wobbly, the urinals didn’t flush right, the place didn’t seem to clean. Service was ok but we thought it was a bit overpriced.
