This is the worst Sourdough and Co. establishment I’ve visited. For reference, I have tried Atwater, Oakdale, Sacramento, and Dixon locations. I have always had superb service and food there. I walked into this Manteca location thinking I would have a good experience, but to my disappointment, it was below average. I was trying to sign into my account and the woman at the register who hadn’t cleared a previous person’s order…decided to rush through and repeatedly asked me to order. I understand I need to order or else why would I be there? She could see that I was typing on the screen. For someone who works there, they sure acted foreign to the whole rewards system. Anyway, once I finally signed in, I asked about my rewards and offers; two different things! She told me that I couldn’t use anything, only through the app. No offense but the app is kind of archaic. The other locations let me use my offers in person. I was a bit bewildered after this and hoped my sandwich would be good at the very least. Nope! It was bad, she didn’t even compress the sandwich, wrap it, or even cut it. I was shocked because I had specifically asked her to put mustard in there, and there was none. The tuna salad also tasted weird. At least my mom liked her soup. I was just super upset and felt like this location needed a whole crew refresh. The crew members I met today (@ ~3pm 1/13/26) only care about making their jobs minimal. What’s so hard about making a sandwich? I’m never going back here, that’s for sure.

I visit Sourdough & Co. frequently for lunch and sometimes even dinner! Abhay, Taran, and Aman are always friendly and welcoming but honestly, everyone who works here is so nice and makes the experience great every time.

The garlic pesto turkey sandwich is my go-to and it’s always delicious! Even when it’s really busy, the speed of service is quick (or at least very reasonable), and the quality of the food and service never drops. Always great service and great food, highly recommend!

I recently went here, and I had the best experience. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. The person who toke my order was Taran and she was extremely nice. My order was perfect and just how I wanted. She was very polite and so was everyone else working. The store was clean and the staff was wearing gloves and changing them every time. Everybody should visit. I loved it and will definitely go back again soon.

The sandwich looked Amazing, just look at it, look at my photos. Look at the layers of meat and greens. How is that not delicious. It’s so good until I take a bite and all the awesomeness swerves me and I only ate bread. The clam chowder was okay, I don’t know why I expected to be really good. Very disappointed with my experience. I ordered a 6-inch ham sandwich and potato soup through DoorDash and was charged $49, only to receive the wrong soup. I called the store and drove in to have it corrected, but communication with staff was difficult and they seemed unsure of my request. Once I got there the staff had my confirm the soul from a cold refrigerator container and I had to wait for them to warm it up in the microwave . After returning to work, I discovered the replacement soup was still cold.

Between the incorrect order, poor communication, and lack of quality control, this was a frustrating experience. I hope they improve their accuracy and customer service.

As I placed my order, I knew I was going to have problems, there were already 2 customers waiting for their orders. The guy taking my order, didn’t speak English. He didn’t know what I was asking for. I tried to order a large southwestern salad, he looked lost. He turned and looked at the menu on the wall. I asked for a chicken salad sandwich, he asked if I wanted house dressing, etc. I said just the way it comes prepared, no additional items ir changes. He continued asking if I wanted Individual items on the list. I repeated no changes, justbthe way it comes. It had cheese and their house dressing ( similar to thousand island dressing) Chicken sals comes with chicken, pecans, grapes and mayo.) It was really weird tasting with cheese and thousand island dressing on top of the sald and it’s ingredients. Horrible language barrier, very difficult to order food when the person doesn’t understand what im asking for. He should not be the person taking orders or using the register. He was constantly aaking the other person for help. She eventually took over the register. He moved onto preparing the food and packaging orders. The clam chowder was located in the back in a container, cold from the fridge. He scooped the soup out of the cold container with a paper cup and poured it into a small soup cup. Looked very messy. He continued by heating it the microwave. I had ordered a southwestern salad, he forgot the dressing. I asked him for the dressing for my salad, he gave me 2 Italian dressings. The young girl had to keep correcting all of his mistakes. She ended up giving me 4 jalapeno dressings. She waa nice and always correcting him and fixing his mistakes. The 2 other customers had some issues with their order. We watch patiently try and get the order corrected. They had ordered 2 large bowls of soup, they were given a partially filled smaller cup of soup and were missing the 2nd soup they ordered. As they had to correct their order and ask fir the missing item, they seemed worried. They were confused by the wrong size they received. Their soup was also cold, and microwaved the same way ours was. They had ordered a different soup , also from the back, from the refrigerator.

Our sandwiches were very thin and lacked the amount of filling for what we paid for. We’ve experienced better quality and larger portions in the past from this same location, when they first opened. There must be new owners/ management the overall quality, taste is nitbthe same.
Just shameful you have to check every item, many things missing, small portions, wrong sizes received and the temperature of the food. I’m confident they have not been properly trained for food handling. We pay for food that is advertised as a certain size and proportion stated. If you pay for a Bowl of soup at 12oz. You should not receive a small cup with less than 9oz in an incorrect container. Let alone not temped at a safe and correct heated level. This is a dangerous environment. I never witnessed any handwashing ir changing of gloves. Please pay attention to the cashiers touching the register, then touching your food and even worse touching their faces. Handwashing should be done every time you touch something different while preparing or interacting directly with people. I really worry about the safety of the food you receive from this place and the sanitation the staff has not been trained to follow, especially handling food. I will never go back to this location, nor recommend anyone else should. Safety of food and the handling is very important and can be very dangerous. Be aware at any and all restaurants you order from. Shame on the owners and the staff for not upholding the safety of food we pay good money for.
Wash your hands, change your gloves, serve food in the amount offered and always have safe temperatures of food being handled and served. We need to pay attention for our own health and safety.

The sandwiches are very good, the flavor combinations work, the bread is light and fluffy. My only qualm is that they skimp on meat portions, with the employees having to weigh out the meat before adding them to the sandwiches.

The restaurant itself is well decorated, clean, and has a nice restroom.

Lunch at the Sourdough & Co. I had the smoked brisket sub on wheat bread. The brisket melt in your mouth and the flavor were amazing. The bread was perfectly baked the thin outer layer was crispy enough to bite but not hard and the inside was tender and soft. Also added a bowl of clam chowder which was delicious . The whole service and meal was amazing. THANK YOU SOURDOUGH & Co for your phenomenal meals and amazing staff at Mentica California. A must try if you are in the area and I will definitely be back!

My husband stopped to get us sandwiches on his way home from Manteca to Escalon. Which is about a 25 minute drive. I ordered a peppered Turkey sandwich. When he got home my sandwich was roast beef, which I will not eat. We called the store to ask them for a refund and the store manager told us they can’t refund us and we needed to bring the sandwich back to get a new one…… for their mistake. We said no we were not driving back, I also have three small children, and again… why would I drive back for their mess up? We checked our receipt and Turkey was clearly ordered( you know sometimes you click the wrong thing) we had made a mobile order so he could just run in. The manager then told us to email the company since she couldn’t do anything. I have emailed the company about 4 times now. This happened over 4 months ago, and still haven’t heard. Customer service sucks, sometimes the sandwiches are not made great. But the price is high.
