We were very happy with our visit! My family shared the super chuck wagon and some ribs and it was more than enough food plus leftovers. The meat was very good, only the ribs and turkey were a bit dry. They seemed cooked well but maybe kept warm too long or without being wrapped to maintain moisture. However the quality was good overall and the service was absolutely amazing. We were a little high maintenance and the staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean. Well be back, thank you!!

Was really excited to try this place bc of the reviews but very disappointed. Never before have i ever gotten fries that are so severely and obviously undercooked. Ordered lean brisket on door-dash but basically got 80 % fat pieces, barely even ate it. Mashed potatoes are unsalted, food just genuinely doesn’t taste good all together.. potato salad and mac and cheese were the best part, so disappointing.

Delicious barbecue! Being our first time, we weren’t sure what to order. The staff recommended the sausage & even gave us some samples of sausage to try. We enjoyed it so much, we ordered the sausage plate & sandwich with sausage & pulled pork. We both got baked potatoes with all the toppings, as well as sides of creamed corn & green beans to share. We ended up taking the baked potatoes home.
A nice surprise to see that soft serve ice cream in cones is included with the purchase of every order. It’s the perfect palette cleanser & way to top a meal.

I’ve been going to this barbecue place for years, and it was rated the best until recently. I’m so disappointed because the previous guy with the beard, who always had a friendly face and conversation, delivered excellent food. Apparently, he’s no longer there. Now, the young lady currently serving is rude and condescending, and it’s terrible. I ordered a rib yesterday, and the meat was hard, burnt, and dried out. This isn’t the first time, but it will be my last visit, and I hate that because I really enjoy their food and the atmosphere.

I originally tasted this restaurant’s food about 6 years ago at a different location and I was not impressed, BUT I tried it again this past weekend in Mansfield, Texas while working the Heart of Texas Basketball Tournament and it was amazing!!! The service was also great!!
The ribs and brisket were so tender and when I added that spicy bbq sauce it was delicious!!!! The sides I had were also delicious with the cabbage and spicy pinto beans. You know I had to taste their banana pudding because everyone just can’t make it like you do at home and it was so good!!!

Five stars is a rare rating from me, but Soulman’s Bar-B-Que absolutely earns it. I was recommended this place by a co-worker and I have to say that it was a gem of a discovery. BBQ is probably one of my favorite food groups of all time and I have tried everything from the tried and true Texas style, to Kansas City and the Carolinas. Soulman’s was a real treat.
I tried a three meat plate with Brisket, Ham and Ribs with their Ranch House Bean, Spicy Potatoes and Potato Salad. Ribs and brisket are often how I judge a BBQ joint and here I was not disappointed. The ribs were fall off the bone tender, moist and had a flavorful bark with just enough of the rub pleasantly seared to the meat. A nice, crisp bark surrounded the sliced brisket with a wonderful deep smoke ring in the tender slices that were not dry at all, like so many places. The ham was even a bit surprising. It was well textured, juicy and held a wonderful smoked flavor.
What really impressed me were the sides. The Ranch House Beans had pieces of ham, sausage and brisket in them with chunks of onions and peppers. They were amazing. As was the Spicy Potatoes, a dish of pan-fried potatoes, peppers and onions. They have twelve different sides to choose from and they all looked delicious, except of course for the cabbage, but that is just a personal taste for me.
Apparently on Friday nights they have a catfish fry that really packs the place out. Going to have to return and try that out. If you are in the Mansfield area, you have to stop by Soulman’s and give them a try. Bring your appetite, because they are not stingy with the servings and enjoy one of the Metroplex’s genuine gems in BBQ faire.

The St Luis style ribs are amazing with or without the bbq sauce. Not too fatty and plenty of meat. Full of flavor and not salty. The cabbage phenomenal. The Mac and cheese is home made and soooo good. I highly recommend this place. I’m definitely coming back. Want to try the loaded potato next.
