I had really been anticipating trying the food here. I was not disappointed at all! It was simply one of the best meals I have ever had. The Catfish, a large piece cooked perfectly. Mashed potatoes and gravy that tasted like my grandma’s and mac n cheese that almost made me cry. COMFORT FOOD Ebony was the beautiful soul that greeted me warmly and waited on me. Modern decor and omg they serve Kool aid! My Dad says yum Thanks y’all!

I ordered chicken wings and they were so small. One of the chicken wings wasn’t even a drum or a flat it was like a piece of wing piece but really small. Lastly my niece ordered a hamburger and fries. The fries where good but my niece said the hamburger tasted sweet. I said no way your tripping so I bit the hamburger and ot tasted straight like sour milk and it smelled funny. Im not sure what happened this time but I wasn’t happy nor will I probably go back.

I’ve lived in Lynchburg going on 4 years now and I am sorry to say I JUST found this place. Food was amazing, I got the whiting, Mac and cheese and collard greens (no pork). Great customer service and did I mention the food was verrrrry good (especially the yams). I would recommend to anyone looking for some good soul food!

The catfish nuggets good. But customer service needs help order over phone said 45 min wait. Got there food not done no waitress just a mess .! Customers sitting with no food and still never got my food so just left after another 20 min wait.

I am still setting in the restaurant right now with my daughters. I must say I loved the food. I ordered the Mac n cheese , baked potato and pork chops. I don’t eat much so I had plenty of leftovers . The food was excellent and the service was just as great. Very friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend!! Also I am a very very picky eater and very picky about where I eat at. Restaurant was very clean

I wanted to have a couple of visits before I did my review and I’m happy to say that I am very satisfied with everything. The second time around the cabbage was a little salty, but that’s just me. I don’t add a lot of salt to my food. My husband had grilled salmon which was grilled to perfection. I had the fried pork chops that were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We had cabbage, macaroni and cheese and a side of corn pudding. I really can’t complain. Everything was so good. However, if you want really good soul food, you have to be patient after making your order because everything is made to order. There’s not a lot of things that are pre-cooked like salmon and chicken and pork chops. This is a new business and considering she just open I know they’re all gonna be bumped in the road and the only bump I came across is having to wait a little while. Like any new business is hard to get consistent help and I can’t give her a strike for that. There’s a lot that goes into running a restaurant and getting good help and I know the owner is doing more than the best that she can. As time goes on, I know she’ll get a better staff. And the only reason I bring that up is because I had a very small conversation and it’s hard to find good help especially help that has a passion for cooking like the owner does. this is by no means a fast food restaurant. Will you get your food in 5 to 10 minutes. This is freshly cooked food to order and I can appreciate that.
