Straight off the plane from Baltimore back home to Chicago we were starving being that we did not have enough time to grab some crab cakes in Baltimore. We were going to order to go at Soulé but the service at the window was taking a little long. We ended up dining inside and from the moment we stepped into the restaurant the decor was beautiful. The jerk wings were amazing and seasoned to perfection, the sweet potatoes were probably the best I have tasted at a restaurant this year and the green beans were so good. My friend had the fried green tomatoes, which she stated were good but could have been cut a little thinner. Also our server Ladonna was great with checking up on us being that it was our first visit, but definitely not our last to Soulé!

Customer service was great, the food was 5/10 I got shrimp and grits. The gravy was too sweet and the grits taste like instant grits. I will come back and try something else soon. The fried catfish was a 10/10 The dirty rice was a 6/10

I was truly looking forward to eating at Soule, especially after the feature on the Today Show.
**Service Issues:**
Upon our arrival, we noticed that the restaurant was not busy, yet the service was notably slow. It took a significant amount of time before we were able to get the attention of a server to take our food order. Unfortunately, she did not inquire about or bring us any drinks, which was disappointing.
**Food Quality:**
When our food arrived, we were quite let down by the quality of the dishes:
1. **Shrimp and Grits**: The dish had an unusual vinegar base that was off-putting and didn’t complement the flavors we expected.
2. **Fried Chicken**: This was over-fried and dry, lacking the juiciness and flavor that one anticipates from a dish like this.
3. **Fried Fish**: The fish served was minced and fried, rather than the fillets advertised on the menu. This left me feeling misled, as ground fish pieces do not compare to premium cuts of fish. Today, we were definitely charged a premium price for a subpar meal.
**Overall Experience:**
Given the high expectations set by the feature on the Today Show and the prices charged for the meal, our overall dining experience was disappointing. I would like to believe this was simply an off night and that there is potential for Soule to provide a top-notch dining experience in the future.

I went for happy hour vibe is ok. Dj was good pretty loud though. Definitely “hood adjacent “. Happy hour drinks were half off. MY drink was tasty, however be patient. If she did not know you her interest in checking on you was limited. Wings were $1 . I asked if the jerk supposed to be this dark or have sauce. She said thats how they come. Will I be back maybe for a drink at happy hour , be back for wings no.

two start cause the food was great and the DJ amazing , BAR amazing shots however the server did not come to the table for 20 minutes. As a server you suppose to introduce yourself at least within 5 minutes, i understand it’s busy however communication in a professional setting is important. Tonya walked to the table and said what can i get yall i understand we in the hood however be more professional sweetie that affects your tip , When our drinks were ready instead of her bringing them with straws she brought them without. i’m not sure if she was being unprepared because she is not a good server i went to bar got my own straws , the host was amazing he brought our food , as my first experience i was excited to come she ruined it i started to walk out but the music made me stay . Horrible server i left 3 dollars didn’t want to leave that . don’t treat me rude cause im young you never know what tip you will get

Visited Chicago this Sunday and had a great experience here. Found this place from Google maps and didn’t realize they were reservation only, but thankfully they were gracious enough to still accommodate us. Fried green tomatoes were like a southern granny had cooked them, fried fish was cooked very well , Mac had different flavors from cheeses, and the down in the delta was excellent. Customer service was well, owner or manager came around to make sure the guest had good experiences and from the looks of it they have a nice set of regulars who come in. Would recommend this place and visit again

Had a great time here, no wait time with reservation. The atmosphere was great, music was a bit loud but still good. We were seated by the pickup door, so we caught the cold breeze when the door was left open. The food was great, everything tasted good. Portions were a good size. Drinks were well balanced. Our waitress Brittany was awesome.

I got the shrimp and grits. It was tasty but presentation was lacking, to be fair I did get takeout. We waited about 8 mins before anyone acknowledged we were there. Was missing 2 sides which were clearly on the receipt. Was told there a glitch in the system that allowed me to pick more than 2 sides and the entree only comes with 2 sides. Eventually I was given the sides.
