My husband and I needed catering for our wedding. We didn’t really know any good caterers. But, our wedding decorator referred Chef Dee to us. We went for a tasting and when I say the plate was packed, it was PACKED. What we wanted was fried chicken, mac n cheese, yams, greens, and cornbread. It was made fresh. Speaking to Chef Dee was very pleasant. He is an amazing young man and carrying on the teachings from his Grandma. He offered us water, soda or Pooh-aid (Kool-Aid). He peaked our curiosity on the Pooh-Aid (Lovingly named after his nephew). So, we had that. Chef Dee and his daughter served our plate and WOW. His cooking made us want to smack him and his grandma. It was so soulful and seasoned perfectly. The greens and the mac n cheese had a little kick to it but, it was very good. We were so pleased that after the first bite, we asked if he would cater our wedding. As we talked to him, we loved his spirit and attitude. Its family run. He’s teaching the next generation on business and delivering great food. We were SO happy that we were told about him. We put money down and made payments. He asked if he could stay and serve at the reception. He said that would be no problem. He was there an hour before the wedding. He and his family came and setup. We had a big thing of Pooh-Aid(smile). It’s literally sooooo good. His youngest is the boss. She runs things. They were so professional. Everyone loved all the food. Most of the people that came to our wedding were from out of town, but the ones that live in Bossier and Shreveport wanted to to go and try some of his other dishes. His food and character are amazing. I sincerely hope that more people will frequent his place. His food does not disappoint. Thank you Chef Dee for being a big part of our wedding!

Let me tell yall something, If you have never been to Soul N Love Cafe, you have been missing out until this point in your life. A co-worker and I are in town on business, and I always look at reviews and pictures before trying somewhere new while traveling. The reviews and pictures of Soul N Love got us to go here. We went for lunch 2 days straight. It was right after they opened up at 11, so not very many folks in there while we were there. I think it’s because not too many know of it. It definitely isn’t because of the place or food I can assure you. The first day, i had the seafood baked potatoe with catfish. Absolutely outstanding flavors and just all-around amazing. My buddy chose the homemade pizza and chicken wings, which his response was similar to mine. They have certain menu items to choose from daily. It isn’t the same thing every day. The next day, I had to go back for the seafood pasta and lambchops. Folks, the best way to describe the flavors and taste of everything was like heaven in your mouth. Haha. Seriously, every bite is full of flavor and just makes u close your eyes and savor it. D or Dee, not sure how he prefers it, but he is the cook and the owner, very nice guy definitely knows what he is doing. You can tell he puts lots of love and pride into making sure his food is top of the line with robust flavor and great presentation. I talked to him both days and made sure he understands how great his food is, and I will do what I can to get his name out there. I have been Bbqing and competing now going 13 years and I know what it is like to hear from customers /guest/judges what they think of your food and what it means to me to hear the gratitude and feedback. So I make sure to do the same for others whether it’s good or bad. D is a very polite and down to earth gentleman and you can tell he genually cares and puts his heart in soul into that food. Not like some other restraunts we have visited. Anytime I am in the shreveport/bossier area, I will be stopping by again. The hostess sharika, might of misspelled it , if so I apologize, but a very sweet young lady always checked to make sure we didn’t need anything, and if we did, she was on top of it. Always had a smile on her face. The restraunt was very clean and spacious. They have a few Kool-aid options for drinks as well as a few soda choices and a few punch drinks to choose from. This man’s food is nothing to pass up. You will want a recliner or a bed for a nap after leaving, I promise, lol. I have included pictures of our meals and the restraunt. Y’all have to check it out.

This establishment is very quaint. The owner and staff are friendly and courteous. I had the smothered oxtail over rice, with Krack Mac and yams for my sides. I especially enjoyed the “Krack Mac”.

After chatting and getting a great feel for the atmosphere with the staff(found out later one of them was the owner). They recommend the nachos and wangs, due to my husband ordering the katfish and soul fries which is what they are known for. At the first bite I knew it was about to go down! If you want great flavor with great atmosphere, this is the place for you. I even ended up eating off my husbands plate.

This is the best Soul Food restaurant in the Shreveport-Bossier area. The owner was personable and accommodating, the facility was clean and the DJ was on point. They couldn’t have picked a more fitting name for the restaurant if they tried!
If you want seasoned food, look no further. You will be pleasantly surprised! (I am a real customer who is not related to anyone affiliated with this establishment.)

Soul N Love is the perfect place for an evening of relaxing after work or to hang out with your girls. The food is great, Quisha makes the drinks RIGHT, and the owner greets his guests personally. I have been supporting him since he opened and will forever be a customer!
