I always enjoy this food every time I visit South Jersey. I been here several times, and it always stays good. And they always seem so happy to see me when I walk in the door. They love their customers, and you can see that thru the food and experience. I ordered the Turkey Wing platter, and Oxtails platter.

My first time trying this place. I ordered the fried shrimp basket (dinner portion). I got a side of fries, coleslaw and a cornbread. The food wasn’t bad, it was ok however; when I asked how many shrimp came with the platter “17” I was very surprised. Being optimistic I ordered and came back home to the tiniest shrimp I’ve ever seen in my life. I would much rather have 6-8 medium sized shrimp than this. Idk if I will return. Very disappointed!

My wife is from New Orleans, Louisiana. She has been missing good Southern cooking and wanted to try this place. She wasn’t expecting much because she keeps getting disappointed. She ordered the Catfish dinner platter with Collard Greens and Macaroni and Cheese with the Sweet Potato Pie for dessert. She said, “this is off the chain!” She absolutely loved it and said it was the closest to Cajun that she has found up here so far. The only thing she didn’t care for was that the stems were chopped up in the greens. Otherwise, she loved it.

The food is delicious, well prepared and presented as well. The cooking area is clean and the people worked very diligently to get your food out fast.
As a person coming from New York, this is the first place that I found cooking that taste like New York cooking, good job soul boat.
The only area I would give a four star is the chairs and the decor of the place need to be a little bit updated.

I ordered the Whiting fish with chicken wings and fries for the kids and they were okay tasting. My husband had the same except the fries were replaced for 2 sides , mac & cheese and yams, which were terrible. No flavor for yams and the mac & cheese were just noodles and butter. I ordered the stewed chicken (will add picture for better visual) and received boiled chicken with potatoes, carrots and gravy. Terrible ! I will never order from here again. Cornbread was super bland !

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant, when ordering I thought this was a black owned restaurant but when I arrived it was definitely not. Buttttt the food was soooo good seasoned to perfection, fried perfectly even the Mac and cheese and cabbage was cooked perfectly! I got the fried crab sticks, shrimp, and fish! Highly recommend

Love this place. The girl at the counter is the Best!! She knows my order everytime I call and welcomes me with a smile everytime I come in. Their food is delicious and prices descent. Great place to get food from.

It is NOT soul food. It is Asians making an attempt to cook soul food. Food lacked flavor. The cornbread was dry as dirt. The oxtail and gravy taste like oil. It’s a take out restaurant only.

We enjoyed the whiting, it was very fresh and tasty but we did not enjoy the crabsticks, the flavor and batter was ok but the crab meat texture was very mushy and off.
