I was invited to try someone’s Japanese restaurant that served both Japanese BBQ and Sushi. So my friend ordered Sosoguud Roll. I ordered Butter Shrimp, Trio Meat Sampler of varied meats, Chili Garlic Edamame, Garlic Noodles, Japanese Street Corn that had crispy flakes on it and Green Tea Icecream.
They were so good to eat! The meats are super juicy and soft that it melts in your mouth. Meat are high quality and fresh. They serve small portions of every meals so you can try many on the menu. The price is worth to try!

Went to this place on a Thursday evening and it was about half full. Though it wasn’t busy the staff was stressed. We had two people coming to us duplicating what the other person just did.
I ordered the hand rolls and they were good! I wish this place had fresh wasabi to go with it.
The ramen and bao buns were visually appealing but had no taste. The baos had to much mayo it was odd.
The miso ramen had beautiful colors but no flavor. The ramen was al dente and clumpy. His ramen took a while to get there so my partner just ate it anyways. When I told them they offered us new noodles(?) then said maybe they could take it off which is not what we wanted but then offered a free dessert instead. We didn’t take them up on the free dessert. I hope they tweak their working style and pivot a little bit bc I really want this place to be good!!

Amazing Special Lunch meal including soup, salad, white rice, raw shrimps (3) pork slices (3) beef slices (3) over a hot bbq. Butter is added to cook & add to the shrimp delicious favor. We did order on the side – Garlic Noodles!

Food was just of. A little pricey for what you get. The service was good. It was as fun grilling your own meat but the taste was just ok with the sauce. The place has great ambience and decorations.

Went here for an event experience but also got additional food too. The drinks/cocktails menu very fantastic and very well done, wish I could have time to try more. I only tried the California roll that was highly recommended by a great, friendly server and it is delish. I wouldn’t say it a typical one that you might had tried before but it very light and tasty. The miso cod is just simply delighted, soft, fluffy and packed of favor. I really love it. They do have BBQ too, the menu look quite intriguing, plus HH from 3-6 that takes $2 off from cocktails and discounts on selected dishes and AYCE brunch too. Can’t wait to go back to try them.

A colleague and I went here for dinner to try a “new” restaurant for us. We visited on a Wednesday night where the restaurant was not too busy. The atmosphere was very relaxing and calm. Service was efficient and amicable. We ordered the Japanese BBQ all-you-can-eat. The filet mignon was superior along with the tuna nigiri (sorry, no pics). Everything was very fresh and tasty. Because we had to cook our food, the heating grill pit was very efficient in cooking our food. The heat disseminating from the grill pit was focused on the grill more so than expanding heat in the seating area. We never felt too warm or hot while cooking / eating at our table. While cooking our food, it gave us time to socialize and catch-up on things. We would visit this restaurant again in the near future.

The food was very good, we ordered the mid priced option for 4 adults. The service was terrible! They ran out of steak and rice and still charged us for the full menu. The server could not be bothered to check on us and we waited 10 minutes to get the bill – I ended up walking up to get the bill and the server had me follow her to my table! Maybe she knew she wouldn’t get a tip if I had paid up at the register! When she handed me the device to sign the check she clicked on a 22% tip!! I looked at her and laughed and said that’s not going to happen! Even the table next to us was reluctant to tip her- she didn’t tell any table they were out of something until food was ordered.

We had a great experience at the new Long Beach Japanese restaurant and barbecue Sosogu.
It is clean and the inside is very nice, high quality tables and nice bathrooms.
The food is fresh and good and tasty. Vegetables are good. The sushi rolls are good.
They have some nice options of meals for 2 people for around $25+ with several dishes. It is very good.

She checked on us often, made great recommendations, and truly made our meal feel special. You can tell she cares about her guests and loves what she does.
