I usually don’t like ribs but the ribs from Sooey’s ribs were actually delicious! They had a lot of flavor and were very tasty. I really enjoyed the pulled pork and bbq sauce. The hushpuppies and mashed potatoes were also incredibly good. Definitely recommend!

This was another stop we made while me and my daughter was on vacation and oh my goodness the portions are huge, well worth the price. Everyone that work there was super friendly joke and laughing. It was a great atmosphere to be in while eating.

Five stars across the board!! We just drove in from Durham and were tired/hungry/struggling to find a place to eat. We found great service and amazing food at Sooeys! Reasonably priced too. I’d recommend the chicken tenders (really nice breading, perfectly cooked) and fried okra (same as the tenders)! The inside sitting area is on the smaller side but there’s plenty of space outside as well.

Sooey’s may just look like a typical southern restaurant however this little shack is way more than being typical .Their pulled pork sandwich is one of the better ones I’ve had,same can be said with their hush puppies, and their prices are very reasonable.Everything at this restaurant is at least decent it might not be amazing all of it but it will all be at least decent this is true for their cornbread,mac and cheese, and tenders.Along with all of this their staff is very nice and hardworking. All of this makes Sooey’s one of my favorite spots to eat when I am down in the Outer Banks.

This place was recommended by our dolphin watch boat captain. He wasn’t lying. Hands down the best BBQ I’ve ever had! Lily, our server, was so patient and so kind. She recommended the sampler to my husband and fried okra for me. I’ve never had any kind of okra, so I tried it because she said I’d love it. I do! ❤️ yum! Thank you for the kind service, Lily, and your helpfulness. Y’all are overworked and understaffed, but you’re doing a great job! If we visit nags head again, we will eat here.

We decided to get some authentic NC BBQ on our last night in the Outer Banks and chose Sooey’s. Honestly, we were disappointed in what we got. The brisket platter was literally half fat! I understand some fat but not half the portion! The ribs were decent, but also fatty. The pulled pork was good as well as a grilled chicken sandwich we bought. The baked beans and coleslaw were good but the green beans were tasteless, like they heated up a can of green beans and served it (was expecting some bacon or ham or something in it!). The hush puppies were the best part of the meal, very tasty indeed
